This evening Miss Kitty seems to have a stuffy nose and sneezing some. She also has had some loose bowels for the last few days. She is drinking and didnt eat much today from what I can tell, I have tried to clean her backside, she doesnt like it but she cant seem to reach it. I do my best with cleaning her,, her hair/fur is long..lol

You can steam her in the bathroom with a warm shower running gor a few minutes for her stuffy nose. You may want to call your vet. It could be an upper respiratory infection (URI), which would require antibiotics. Best to treat it now, as she can pass it to the kittens when they are born. It's not good when newborn kittens get sick.

she is better today.  I hate to keep asking questions, I have the heating pad in her bed on low just waiting now. I have read somewhere but cant find it now, how many layers should be on top of the heating pad? oh I got a scale yesterday too..gloves, towels, sheets ready too, what am I missing?..lol

Miss Kitty is doing the sweetest thing, when I rub her , she has started licking my hand or arm.. I think she loves me..

The heating pad can be under just one layer, such as a folded blanket. Don't put it under just a thin sheet though. I'm glad she is better today.

Don't worry about asking questions! That's why this site exists! Keep asking! Also good you've got supplies. Did you get a can of powdered KMR?

sarthur2.. the heating pad I have is an old one that dont shut off like the new ones, I have a camera on her bed so I can watch her too. at the moment the pad is under a sheet folded in 4ths and a beach towel folded in 3rds. I dont want it to get to hot..lol

I just check the camera and Miss Kitty is laying on the side that does not have the heating pad. It is suppose to get  in the low 50sF tonight.. so being in the garage ( which is insulated) I hope that will be enough. so should I move the heating pad between the sheet and towel?

You can do that without a problem. If she gets too warm she'll move off. [emoji]128522[/emoji]

I think Miss Kitty is getting closer, or it may be wishful thinking,, I am going out of town in a few weeks for grandson's 2nd bd. SHE better hurry up!.

I check on her this morning. Doing fine... When I rub my hands down her sides (both sides), from the backbone to the stomach I feel an indention before I feel her mommy bump... Could this mean she is dropping,, I havent noticed this much room between her backbone and her mommy bump before... more wishful thinking?...lol

I checked on miss kitty this morning, she was under and behind hubby's storage shelf. I got her out, looked around under there to make sure she didnt have a kitty.. not yet,, but I think it is getting close. She never has gone under/behind that before. I plugged the one hole so she cant get back there anymore.

when she does start having her kitties, if she starts birthing in a different spot then one of the beds, can I more her and the kitten to her bed with the heating pad?

This morning to when I was rubbing her belly, she rolled over on the side/back and did the " spread eagle" as we say in texas..lol

I cleaned her rump, she either cant reach it or she dont like the smell.. I been doing that for about a week now with a warm cloth.

It's possible she is looking for a more secluded nest than she has now. As for moving her and the kittens, it's very possible that once she chooses a spot/nest she will keep coming back to it with her kittens, even if you move them all. Try moving one of the nests that you made into a secluded corner and show it to her, though keep the box that she likes to sleep in where it is so that she can orient herself and know that everything is normal. :)

I agree that she is looking for a more secluded spot. She wants to be hidden somewhat. Can you put her nest in a dark closet? That's what I did, and ran an extension cord so I could plug in the heating pad. Cats don't much like being moved once they have their kittens.

I think she can't reach down there easily right now, so it's kind of you to do the honors. It does sound like she's close! [emoji]128522[/emoji]

I have to keep here where she is at.. I do have a box that she is getting in today. I have the flaps closed and a hole cut in the side. its pretty dark in it, I cant see her in there with the cameras.. so I am checking on her every hr or 2...

 I will keep you posted!

I am keeping myself busy working in my flower beds...lol

I think this may be the time,, she has not ate anything all day,, its 1:19 pm central time now. Her tummy is hard but so signs of labor. A few times when I have petted her, she raises one back leg..lol she is on her side with the upper body standing sort of.
