My 1 year old cat has a swollen tail that starts from his butt and when I try to look at it he cries when I barely even touched it also when I touch 3 of his feet he cries and bites me I looked at his eyes and his 3rd eye lid is showing maybe he got hit? He is eating and drinking but I'm worried help please!!!

It sounds like her may have gotten injured somehow. You need to take him to a vet to get checked out, especially since he won't let you take a closer look.

How long has he been like this? It sounds serious, and like he should go to the vet immediately. Please let us know how it goes! Best of luck.

Well I noticed it a couple days ago but today his third eyelid is almost gone and he seems to be fine when I touch his feet his tail is still swollen but not has swollen as it was yesterday so if he isn't better by Monday when the vet is open then I'll take him down and see what's wrong with him

It sounds like he may have an infection that his body may or may not be able to handle. He should definitely see a vet.

Does he go outside? Is he neutered?

Yes he goes outside and no he isn't neutered and behind our house is the forest so I'm scared he may have gotten bit

He needs to be neutered. He is currently contributing to the cat overpopulation problem, but also his health is at risk. Unneutered males fight over territory and mates, which can be deadly or result in the spread of disease.

You really need to get him neutered @CamCam  Tail bites are very common in male cats, if they lose a fight the stronger cat bites their tail and back legs as they run away. These bites almost always become infected and turn into abscess. Cat bites contain so much bacteria and can pass on Feline AIDS and Feline Leukemia. Both incurable and potentially fatal.

Can you take him to the vets? He may need some antibiotics to prevent infection.

Please take a look at this.

If you tell us where you live we can help you to find a low cost clinic.

Please keep him inside until you can save up enough, though. It's serious, as you can see.

Have you checked out the prices? Around where I live it's $35 through the mobile clinic that helps the feral population (and low income households). I was pleasantly surprised when my vet quoted me $25 per cat. Can't beat that! Hope you find something affordable.

Was this spray given to you by a vet? Please make sure it is cat-safe.
