okay i know this is strange but i gotta know if it's just me.

sometimes i look at my cat madonna and wonder if she's sad or depressed.

like i was taking photos tonight and i got this look from her:

i know she's got some high cheek bones, but... idk does she look sad or sick???

here's an older pic:

and an even older one:

here's some pics of her as a kitten, where she seems to have a more lively facial expression:

idk what do you guys think???

like is just her facial structure, or should i push to make her gain some weight?

or do you guys think she's depressed?

am i being crazy lol

I think she looks like a cat...cats always seem to look not too impressed.  Also Madonna is an amazing cat name.

My cat named Mouse HATES having her picture taken.  She chirps/meows at me and always gives me 'crusty/dirty' looks.  I don't think she looks depressed.  Just a typical cat.

I think the angle of her eyes + her high cheek bones give her the appearance of "sad face". Humans experience this too, only we call it resting b#$@% face. What does her body language say?

She's very cute btw. So fluffy looking :-)

Yea, I also think it's just because of her face shape; sort of angular - those big round eyes.

As long as her behavior is normal you probably have nothing to concern yourself with.  I would add, however, when was the last time she had a check up?  Just to rule out that she's not in any pain for some reason.

P.S. I agree that Madonna is a great name. It seems to suit her.

Completely normal & healthy looking to me.  A depressed kitty will be lethargic (moves slowly, doesn't want to do more than the bare minimum to eat/drink/defecate, won't want to lift its head to pay attention to you).

Ohhh she is ADORABLE. I don't think she looks sad at all. Like @JMJimmy  said above, I don't think a sad cat will not come sit on your books like that. She just looks like she wants attention to me. I also think its adorable she is an orange girl...don't see too many of them around! :)

My cat Mia looks annoyed most of the time so I have the same worry as you! I agree if her health is ok then I would try not to be concerned. :)

She is very cute!

Well, you know there IS all that stuff going on with Rocco so it's only natural that Madonna is a LITTLE depressed.  Even so, I saw her perform in Miami and in Vancouver and I thought she was utterly AMAZING and not even the slightest depressed  Plus, her fur looked AWESOME.

LOL

Your cat is beautiful and looks fine.  If you think your cat is behaving a little "off" perhaps a vet visit is on order.

Ladies with an attitude.

Fellows that were in the mood.

Don't just stand there; let's get to it.

Strike a pose there's nothing to it.

VOGUE.

**Sorry I couldn't help it.

I often wonder if my cat Tiki is happy too, she always looks sad to me, & she appears to  hang her head. She is 10 & has been like this for as long as I can remember, so I think it is just her way, but I still wonder if she's happy, but she's still very loving towards me!

I think she looks adorable.  As long as she plays well, acts like a "normal cat', just enjoy her.  As long as there are no health problems, Madonna is just being Madonna.

No one knows your cats characteristics like you do. If you are noticing a change in her eyes, it wouldn't hurt to make a trip to the vet. It could be that something is brewing inside. The eyes say alot about health in humans and animals. Better to be safe than sorry. I know my cat inside and out. If there is a change in his characteristics or behavior, I usually know what is up. Good luck to you and Madonna!
