Are my cats seasons backwards??

My cat is just over 1 year old. He is very long haired. This winter the fur around his neck got really short, even for a short haired cat, but was still very thick. Now that it's spring and warming up his hair is long and fluffy around his neck again. Is this normal? It's almost like his seasons are backwards and he gets a winter coat for summer and a summer coat for winter.

Your cats certainly are stunning.  I don't know the answer to your question, but suspect this might be more related to his heritage than him having his seasonal triggers mixed up.  Hopefully someone who knows more about cat breeds will be able to tell you more.  In the meantime, welcome to TCS.
