Hello

Wonder if anyone can give advice? My cat is expecting her first litter. She has been feeding well etc and growing and I did think at one point earlier this week she was going to go into labour buy didn't. Yesterday she was off her food after a few days of being ravenous so thought it would be soon. Last night she was very noisy and this morning she woke me and has not been happy all day constantly meowing and restless etc. I have been giving her extra attention and foe four hours this morning she wouldn't leave my lap or my side if I moved after that. Trouble is first thing this morn we thought she had already had them somewhere because her bump seems to have disappeared and I can't feel the kittens anymore. I have looked everywhere and cannot find them and she doesn't look like my other cats did after they gave birth( though this was a while ago so I may be wrong). She is very restless and just won't shut up but still no sign of babies or anything? She is not acting like my other cats did at all and so wondered if anyone else had experience like this?
Thanks everyone for your help x

Have the babies just moved into position for birth? Has she been out at all or in a place she could have them without you knowing? I'm guessing she hasn't had them yet and is just very uncomfortable today.

I think alike Krissy Marissy the kittens are now down into the birthing postition, and she has "dropped".  so its typical she looks smaller, and you dont feel the kittens -  and if you feel them they are further down now.

The delivery will come soon now.

But good you looked if there werent kittens somewhere - its wise to take precaution if you can.

Thanks everyone, no I have made sure not to let her out, military style operation letting the kids and dog out :) lol. I guess they could have dropped I just don't remember my others being so slim but maybe she just doesn't have many? She is just wondering around now meowing constantly! Lol. She hasn't taken to the beds or boxes we have given her so I'm guessing it will be a search for the cat and her kittens game :/ I guess I'm just worrying more about her as she seems so much more needy than my others did and normally she is quite independent and only likes a hug on her terms lol. Thanks again guys xx

I agree that her litter has probably dropped into the birth canal. Do you plan to get her spayed after this litter?

They can all go when the kittens are 8 weeks old. She will almost definitely go into heat before then, so she just has to be 100% inside and away from intact males.

Please keep posting photos and questions!!

We have no kittens yet. The constant meowing has stopped and she is following me around all day. For the past half hour she has sat on my lap grooming herself everywhere excessively and has started hissing at me if I touch anywhere but her head :/ tried to bite me when I stroked her tummy. :/

I have just sat feeling her tummy as she is fast asleep and I can feel bubbles and the odd little poke so guess it's just a little tight in there!! Her bump still seems less noticeable but I'm guessing ur right. I'm just really paranoid I think lol.i love her to bits and when she is all sleepy all the time I just worry. Kids have said it's like I have a newborn baby at the min!! [emoji]128514[/emoji] I was convinced she was getting ready to give birth a few days ago!

She's sleeping and soon she'll be asking for constant attention and belly rubs. Then won't leave your side. Then it'll begin and things will get exciting. Each cat really follows their own path in the last week and the days can pass slowly. They have to come eventually. Not too much longer now.

Are you sure she was pregnant and not having a false pregnancy? I hope something happens soon, I can imagine you being a bit stressed waiting and wondering.

False pregnacies can happen, but they're really not that common. If you felt babies move you're probably correct. It's not uncommon for it to seem like things are progressing, have a normal day or two, then progress a little further, then a normal day, then labor. They really do keep us on our toes!
