Hello, I am getting a precious Persian mix on Sunday and am just looking for more information. I was thinking about doing half wet half dry given all the debating I have read I'd just like to be neutral and meet in the middle on that situation. lol But also How many times a day should I feed my new kitten and how much food? Should I mix wet and dry or just do separate meals of wet or dry? Also tell me your favorite wet and dry food brands that are hopefully modestly priced. First ingredients being actual meat, no corn and you good stuff.

Hi, and welcome to TCS :wavey:

Generally, the advice for kittens is to feed to appetite. The easiest way to do this is to free feed kibble, and give four or five wet meals spaced through the day. Actual quantity varies so much from brand to brand that its hard to give specific guidance. There's usually quantity guidance on the pack.[article="29721"][/article]

I can't comment on brands, as I'm in the UK and am not familiar with American brands. Its NEVER a good idea to mix wet and dry foods together - separate bowls is always best ;)

Enjoy your new kitten. Such an exciting time :hyper: We love pictures here, so be sure to post some and introduce yourself in the introduction forum :D

Keep dry food separate from canned food and never add water to dry food unless the cat eats it up right away. Wet dry food quickly grows bacteria in it.

It's ok to feed both dry and canned for each meal, just in separate bowls. Sometimes kittens don't eat all the food at once.

Kittens should be fed as much as they want several times a day. Kittens need all that food for their growing bodies
