she had a "senior panel" (she is only 8) and her cholesterol is 360.  Normal range is 81-275.  My vet says that unlike people with HCL, we do not treat HCL in cats.  Does anyone else have a kitty with high cholesterol?  what are the implications?

The first thing I would look at is her food.  The problem (if  it is a problem) could be that you are feeding her something high in CARBS.  This is true of humans, and we can digest carbs well -- cats can't.   Cat food should have no more than 10% carbs, and preferably less than that.  Most manufacturers don't list the carbohydrate value on the foods, but the ingredients can give you a good idea.  If it includes grains (soy, wheat, corn, rice) or other starchy vegetables such as peas, potatoes and sweet potatoes, it is probably high carb.  If it doesn't have any of those and just hsa meat, meal and fat, it is probably very low carb.  You might want to check in our Nutrition Forum to find out more about the various diets people recommend.

Hi, both the cats are on Nature's Variety Instinct, which is grain free.  It was the only diet I could find that was free of grains, agar agar, guar gum and carageenan.  Obi is on the same diet and his cholesterol is not high....but thanks, I will check the nutrition forum.
