For the ladies - anyone with a Mirena or other IUD?

Hi ladies

I am wondering if any of you have positive experiences with the Mirena (or Skyla/Jaydess) or other IUD? I am considering a Mirena most likely as I get bad mood swings and irritability as side effects with the pill and I am totally over it. I cannot take any types of contraceptive with estrogen in them so lots of options are ruled out for me so that basically leaves me with the shot or IUD. I've done a lot of research and I am considering the Mirena now, but I am really quite scared of the insertion procedure! Can anyone reassure me its not actually that bad? Have good experiences with it? I just can't take the emotional toll of the pills anymore!!

I can't assure you it's not painful (I think it's different for everyone depending on their situation) but I explained in more detail in my message.

Thanks, I am going to read it now. I am certain sticking something into your uterus that does not normally belong there MUST come with some amount of pain, so don't worry! I'm just curious HOW painful it might be but I know everyone will experience it differently.
