Hi everyone ! :wavey:

Today's question is .........

Do you prefer to shop in store or online ?

I think I prefer to buy in store as I can then see how the product feels and looks before buying it. But I actually spend more time now buying online Just for the convenience :D

It depends on what it is.  Clothing and shoes I buy in the store unless I know exactly what I want because the store is out of stock of the right size.  For a lot of other stuff I shop online.  It's just so much simpler!  And you can read reviews and price compare easily.

I love online shopping.

Waiting for grocery stores in my area to offer online shop and drive up and pick up.

Since I have started buying online even with shipping costs I notice I don't need to stand in line. Shuffle the stuff in the car. Drive in traffic.

online I just sit here listen to music and click and click its on its way here. I check my mailbox at the end of the day and voila its there!

Clothing I need to shop in stores or yardsales..I don't like buying clothes online unless its sweatshirts but even then I am picky about material and how scratchy it is. I also find that different colors of the same style of clothing never fits the same. So its a big gamble to buy online.

Online.

I don't have to get dressed. I can shop in my pajamas with the kitties close by.

I don't have to waste gas driving there

No traffic

The store doesn't close

No dealing with people stocking the shelves while I'm trying to negotiate the aisles

No screaming children with oblivious parents

No lines

No going for something specific and then finding out that they don't have it

No rude or indifferent salespeople

Nobody going through the 10 items or less line with a full cart because they "didn't see" the sign or they have 17 orders of 10 items.

I can enjoy a nice adult beverage while I shop.

I can have a snack while I shop

Online. I really dislike being in stores; crowds, dragging a bag/coat/my partner lol

There's very few things that I need to see in person.  Some clothing, but I have a basic wardrobe that I can easily purchase on store websites.  I know my size(s).  Maybe for a bathing suit or a bra I'd have to suck up going to a mall but that's about it.

Oh groceries. That's different. I've found doing it online just aggravates me because someone else is picking my food.  I need to see it with my own eyes to assess if it's worth buying and up to my specs.

I do most of my book shopping online.  In fact, almost all of it.  And DVDs, unless I just happen across on in a store.  I have a few clothing sites I will order from, because I have had good experiences, I know how their sizes run, and they have excellent return policies.

Most of my clothing I buy in stores, though.  It's hard to know what you're getting online sometimes.  Like I said, a few trusted sources.  Groceries in the store, as well, although I, also, would just as soon order online then pick up.  It would save all those dratted impulse buys!

Online for sure! Though I do prefer doing grocery shopping in store - I'm fussy about fruit and veg, and prefer to pick it out myself. HATE supermarkets though :slant:

I have to do grocery shopping at the store. I need to see what I buy.

For clothes, I have to try them on. I do hate the screaming kids, and the pushy salespeople...

Gifts are a toss up. Either on line or in store.

The older I get, the more I appreciate the on-line shopping. The only thing I fear is if something does not fit, or I do not like it, it is a hassle to ship it back...

like a few others have said, i prefer to do much of my non-food shopping online but grocery shopping i prefer to do myself in-store.

when i shop in stores, i always have a list and rarely buy anything extra. it's only if i come across a very good sale on an item i use on a regular basis, that i'll buy extra -- a little bit of a 'stock-up'.

for online shopping, when i place an order it's only after i've planned the order completely and budgeted for it. i'll also wait to accumulate enough to qualify for free shipping.

I prefer online shopping for everything but groceries.

A number of years ago Peapod was offered here, I only know one person who used it.  It didn't last very long so there weren't enough people interested.  There is one chain here that offers the online shopping and then picking up the order at the store rather than having it delivered.  I would rather pick out my own groceries mainly because I want to pick out my own fresh produce.  When it comes to produce I usually decide what I want after I see what is available.

Absolutely. My idea of Black Friday is hanging out and checking out Amazon. And I think that is the day I discovered Chewy last year - omg! Awesomeness. I hate shopping. I shop for clothes offline only because I have to try them on. Which is probably why I haven't been in ages even though I really need to get some new pants.

Depends on what I'm buying and how urgent it is.  Clothing (especially shoes) works best if I can try it on.  Groceries, well, I eat a lot of avocados and berries -- both highly perishable; I definitely prefer to buy those locally.  Flash drives, electronics, styluses, a case for a tablet or smart phone -- definitely online; I can get a much better deal that way.  Books, whenever I can find it in electronic format that's what I prefer, which means online.  If I can't find it in electronic format, it's probably been out of print for a while, which generally means AbeBooks; also online.

For clothing, usually in the store. I've purchased boots online and had no trouble. (Love buying boots; it's an addiction
)

Groceries, in the store.

Books, cookbooks, kitchen stuff, Christmas presents and such, usually online. Mostly Amazon, if the prices are OK. When I was shopping for our granddaughter for Christmas, Amazon's prices for American Doll items were simply ridiculous and I found them much cheaper elsewhere. Same with the large Lego set that we bought for our grandson. We found it much cheaper at an actual Lego store.

Office supplies, pens, ink, etc, usually Staples, largely because of the Rewards. In the long run, I think it evens out. The store isn't out of my way because it's two stores down from our grocery store and I hit the grocery store every week.

When I go to the mall, I usually have a list with me and the coupons that I want to use, say at BB & B, Staples, Boscov's or BonTon or Penny's. I try not to pay full price for anything whenever I can do it.

I watch In the Kitchen with David sometimes on QVC on Wednesday nights; if there's something I think I'd like to buy, I go to Amazon. Sometimes the price is considerably cheaper on Amazon, but even if the item isn't cheaper on Amazon, the shipping is usually Prime free and I end up getting it cheaper than I could on QVC anyway. Esp cookbooks. QVC's shipping expenses are ridiculous and I won't pay them.

I prefer going to the store.

I'm too picky with my groceries to allow some one else to do it.

I'm so short that I have to try on my clothes.

I don't buy much in the way of books or movies unless it's an impulse buy when I'm already at the store.

I'm to impatient to wait for deliveries. As soon as I purchase something, I want it right away.

Having said that, I really don't like shopping in stores either.
