If your cat is like mine she won't sleep in a regular flat cat bed,she likes to hide. The only problem those hideaway beds can get pretty pricey for a nice looking one, and if you have more than one floor or more than one cat forget about it. You're out $40 easy. So I'm going to show you how to hack a great looking cat bed your furbaby is sure to love for under $5.

There are only three things you'll need
A short sleeve t-shirt
A box big enough for you cat to sleep and play comfortably in
And a towel or blanket

First gather your materials
Next get your t-shirt and put it on the box with the head hole on the top of the box
Make sure that the sleeves stay on the sides and pull the t-shirt all the way up the box and try to center the neck hole
Now turn the box around and roll the ends of the t-shirt like so. Although both sides should look like the left.
Then just knot it.

And for good measure knot it again.
Now turn to the side and tuck the sleeves in try to get them as flat as possible.
Now place your towel or blanket and adjust to fit.
This should look like your finished product.
Now all that's left is to add your cat.

Thanks for sharing your great idea for a cat bed.   I saw one the other day that was similar in that it was made from a T-shirt, but instead of a box, the person used wire coat hangers to  make a frame so basic ally it looked like a kitty tent.

Interesting. I never really considered a cat bed as being just a box with some cloth and a towel inside, but that really is what they are. I had a tee shirt that people have been pestering me to get rid of for a while, and made a quick dirty one.  Not the prettiest, but pretty serviceable and it took just a couple of minutes. I wonder if nicer cloth and a bit more time could be spent to make a nicer one...

just an update on this hack. The quickie bed that I made for my cat is well received and on of her favorite spots.
