Looking for advice and how to change from dry to wet food and what ratios, and how long.

Also need advice about with wet food introductions do you stick with one flavour ? Like you do with babies ? Or can you try different ones like Chickhen one day turkey the next day and lamb the next?
I have had children but not really cats lol, last cat I had was 15 years ago and wasn't picky and didn't have her long. My new fur baby I have only had 2 weeks.

Thanks in advance.

Some cats are ok with an immediate change from dry to canned. Others may need a gradual transition. You just go at the cat's pace
You could start by offering some canned food every day along with the dry and then slowly increase the canned while reducing the amount of dry.

Many people rotate flavors and brands so the cat gets a wide variety. You can rotate different flavors / brands every day or every other day or whatever works best for your cat. There are probably some cats who will only eat one brand and maybe just one or two flavors in that brand. A few different brands of food is plenty and offers a wide variety of flavors.

Just limit seafood based foods to once in awhile meals. Some cats get addicted to eating it. Gravy based foods should also be limited to once in awhile meals.  Gravy foods tend to be on the high side of carbs which aren't great for cats and some gravy foods are mostly the gravy (water) with little actual food.

I have started on some wet food I have bought and almost transferred his dinner meal to wet food, then hoping to do his breakfast.

Is that what most do or did you do something different?
I read articles on how to change over etc with old and new foods amounts ratios etc.
Would love your input.

He gets so excited at dinner time and jumps up and down with excitement lol. And tries to eat out of the can before its completely open lol. He is right there in my face as he cant resist. Lol it's rather funny. I thought he might be a bit fussy but isn't, he is a garbage guts lol :lol3:
He eats it very quickly so am guessing that is what he is used to eating wet food and that's why he gets so excited.
I have even noticed he is miaowing more too, as before he was rather quiet. And Hardely ever made a noise . I guess he has something to miaow about that's worth miaowing about lol :D

We have had him for three weeks know and maybe he is settling in and feels he can talk to me know as we not taking him back. I am sure animals feel insecure, and wonder if the person is just going to get rid of them and take them back especially if it has happened before to the cat. I don't know much about his background besides that he was given up cos he scratched too much and wasn't suitable for kids but he has been great, had a few issues with my seven year old daughter in his face too much and him giving warming bites but she has backed right off. He doesn't scratch unless he playing or scratching furniture but doesn't scratch us at all. So I dunno why they would say that about him.

Does diet change there behaviour I wonder? Does dry food make them more annoyed?
I have been grooming him and he has improved with that too and let's me groom him a bit longer as well. Could be also just getting used to me doing his fur. :rbheart:
