Hi all :)  So as some of you know, my husband and I are currently fostering Callie, who we hope to adopt at the end of the 2-3 week foster period.

She used the litter box in her room today (we are keeping her separate from Coco for the time being), but I'm a little concerned.  Her poo was soft and extremely stinky, and she peed maybe 5 or 6 times over the course of the day.  Her butt also stinks!  My husband has began calling her Callie "Stinky Butt."

Am I worrying too much?  She was examined by a vet at the shelter last month and is supposed to have a clean bill of health, and we did just bring her home last night.  Any advice would be appreciated!

That is a great article that @LotsofFur linked to.

Also, ask the shelter...what type of food Callie was on, since any change in diet, will affect the bowel movements.

The shelter will give you instructions about the sneezing, and if you should get it checked out.

Remember to keep them both separated, until everything settles down, and Callie is feeling fine.

Thanks @LotsofFur  and @cat nap  :)  I'll be taking Callie to see the vet at the shelter on Friday.
Excellent.

Another thing that came to mind, is check to see what type of 'litter' you are using.

(I know that I had to switch to 'dustless' litter, and 'unscented' because one of my fur crew had started sneezing, after using the litterbox.)

Unscented is the best for cats, because the other one might smell nice to us, but is way too strong for them. I just mix some baking soda, in some of the boxes, for extra smell relief.

I'm sure you know all this, so I'm just repeating stuff, but I thought I'd throw it out there.

Even if Callie is 'slightly under the weather' ...still continue to play, with ping pong balls, throwing scrunched up paper, and other toys.

As long as she is eating, drinking, and using the litterbox, I think she will be strong enough to get over her cat-cold, allergy, or whatever she has. Vet will know on Friday.

If you can, also take a sample of her poop, in to the vet. That is helpful, if they want to analyze it.

Callie seems to have an infection in her left eye, so we are administering drops now.  We are using Dr. Elsey's Cat Attract, which doesn't have fragrance (it's all-natural).

Callie loves to play!  She goes crazy for the Cat Dancer.  She is not a food vacuum like Coco, but she does eat.

The shelter says to bring her in only if she is still showing symptoms on Friday... I know they are incredibly busy and very short on cash, so they probably are trying to conserve their resources.

Sounds like you are doing everything right. Callie is eating and playful which are great signs! The "stinky bottom" may right itself once she's used to her new environment and routine. I may have missed it but are you feeding her the same food she was eating previously?

Kind of... they gave us a bag of Fancy Feast dry food that they were mixing with Hill's Science Diet, since apparently Callie doesn't like dry food :p  In the evenings, they were feeding Fancy Feast, which I feed the majority of the time.  I'm thinking that maybe the dry food was making her butt and poop stink?

I would agree. Once that food is out of her system I think she will be smelling quite a bit better! :D
