My cat midnight got out of the house (she's usually an indoor cat) she was found by a lady who looked after her last night but now she's home and she's acting strange, she is hardly moving, not really touching food or drink and I've just gone to pick her up from where she's been lying for hours and she was literally lying in her own poo like she must have just gone to the toilet there! I'm extremely worried about her the lady said she was fine at her house? I just want to add she isn't acting as if it's life threatning or anything like that like she's not walked off to be by herself or anything like that she was lying with me earlier but she just isn't active at all! I don't know if she ate something funny? Or maybe is stressed due to something that happened whilst she was outside? Can anybody help me please?! UPDATE: I've just put food down for her again and she's eating now and drinking! Do you think it was just something bad in her system that she needed to get out? Or just scared after going missing?

How lucky that your neighbor found her and took care of her for the night!  So glad to hear she's eating and drinking again.  The poor thing was probably scared to death, after being out and in a stranger's house for the night.  Was the poo normal looking?

Yeah the poo was completely normal looking! It was just a really big one! She must not have been able to find her home as we've not lived here for long and the lady said she was meowing at her door to get in! She just seems very quiet, hardly moving, is being really loving and wanting to sit with me all the time and cuddle with me under the blanket.. She ate and drank a little but not massive amounts but she's still ate and drank! Just worried about her! As usually she's moving around likes to be by herself mostly! She never usually comes for cuddles!

Hi!! I'm glad that your cat is back home.

Do you know if your neighbor fed her?? If she did, it might have been food that she's not used to. As mentioned above, stress could have been a factor as well. She was probably scared and confused.

I'd keep an eye on her and if she continues to eat, drink and use the litter box normally, she's probably fine. If she becomes lethargic or stops eating, drinking or using the box, a vet visit would be in order.

You're lucky to have a neighbor kind enough to look after her like that. Does Midnight have a collar and tags? If not, I'd get her one just in case she happens to get out again and this nice neighbor isn't around to help. It sounds like everything worked out OK.
