After having mama and babies spayed and neutered last Thursday I got some Drontal tabs since I had seen some tape worms. Got the pill in mama with some difficulty but cannot capture the kittens to give them the pills. Grabbed one by scruff and he freaked out. The boys don't like being touched and female kitten is a little skittish too. Any suggestions ? How about he pill pockets? Anyone have any luck with those and can you put the drontal tablet in them? Mama foamed at mouth when we "shoved" the one down her throat. Help please?

I have a very finicky boy and Greenie's pill pockets have always worked wonderfully with him! Even if the pills are a little too big, the pill pockets are pretty moldable and you can easily mash them around the pill. In my experience, cats LOVE the taste (I get the chicken ones), and you can use the leftovers as treats! :)

Thanks for advice but won't they foam at mouth like mama did with the drontal when they try to chew the pill pocket? I did get the pill pockets, salmon flavored plus some pill paste, bacon flavored. Going to try that.

I've never experienced foaming at the mouth with either one of my cats, so I can't say. Perhaps making sure the pill is completely encased by the pill pocket/pill paste will prevent that?

I guess it depends. Lucky never foamed at the mouth when taking his methimazole in a pill pocket. He did when I tried to get it down his throat forcibly after he got sick in October. He was also on Pepcid, which is quite bitter. Sara is on that now, and I've heard her crunch on that thing, and I swear it didn't faze her one bit.

I think it just depends on the individual cats.
