Haven't been on in a while, Bella is 59 days pregnant today, wondered if anyone has some advice for me.
I clean her litter tray's before I go to work, then again as soon as I get home from work and yet again before I go to bed because she refuses to pee or poop if the trays don't have fresh litter in them.
Anyway she usually poop's once a day but yesterday she didn't poop at all and she hasn't today either.
She has been eating really well, as she should be but yesterday she only ate about half of what she usually eats and today she hasn't really eaten anything and it's a bit worrying.
She is absolutely massive and is due next Monday, I know sometimes they go off food towards the end but is it normal to not poop for 2 days on the trot?
Any advise would be helpful,
Bella's Mummy

Its probably normal. Yet, you can work with it some.  These home remedies are absolutely harmless:

Be sure she has plenty of water.  You can give her some coldpressed olive oil, or coldpressed canola oil - similiar advice as for kittens with constipation.

Just a few drops.

If you can get hold of  canned crushed pumpkin, that plain type.  This is often used to regulate bowel movements.  Both constipation and in fact, some types of diarrhea too.

- Its probably because she is going to give birth soon, cats usually stop eating a week or more before they give birth and shes not pooping a lot because shes not eating that much.

Nope I dont think that is suitable since the cat is pregnant, shes not pooping a lot because she is not eating a lot and that is because she is going to give birth soon cats always do that a week before they give birth

Not all cats do stop eating and popping. In this case, I don't think there is cause for concern, but olive oil and pumpkin are totally harmless. I think they're worth a try to make Bella as comfortable as possible.

Thanks for the help, will give the oil a try today, like I said she still drinking.
She sleep well all though the night but woke up and she sounds like she has croaky throat, she don't sound the same as she usually does.

Maybe try getting her to a vet so they can do an ultrasound and see if her babies are ok or if the mamma is healthy.

Is she really only 60 days? If so, you need to be prepared for an uphill battle with these kittens.

My Lil Bit just gave birth two days ago she was 64 days. She had a few contractions before that but nothing to do anything. The day she was 63 days she started to have contractions around 10 am they were like every 20 to 30 minutes apart. She wanted to lay by me and have her belly rubbed as often as I would do it. By 10 oclock that night I was constantly rubbing her belly. Finally at 12 on the 29th she started lightly pushing. The first kitten was born at 12:59.

She never went off food. She has always been a grazer so I didn't notice anything different in her eating. I did notice she had a little lose stools the day before she went in labor. I also noticed she got more vocal and wanted me to be in the room with her at all times a few days before labor.

I love the new kittens so much but after this experience she will never go through it again. Her and the kittens will be fixed in June. Her first and they have to be 3 months old before they are fixed at the place I am going to. The look of pain and not being able to ease her pain is something that really got me.

How is it going?  Was it precontractions (common enough!) or the labor has began?

Delivery on day 60 is early.  Some are done with the cooking, contend with a rather short pregnancy, but if they are a little premature is yellow alert at once, possibly even

red alert.  As TalkingPeanut tells.

Bella was 61 days today, were on a different time/I'm in London, uk.
She has had the kittens, 1st one didn't make it, was huge & came out breach, was stuck half way out for over 20 mins, I couldn't get it breathing.
2nd, 3rd & 4th are on her feeding now, they are fine.
She did have a 5th but it came out still born, so sad.
But the other 3 are feeding she is doing really well, thank god.
I nearly had kittens myself just trying to help her!!!
This was her first litter, so she got them out of the sack but didn't chew the cord, I had to cut them and clean them up, she didn't eat any placenta, she's always been funny about her food.
She's doing really well for it being her 1st time though, I'm so proud of her

Congrats to the good work!  Pity about these two whose fate wasnt to be.  You must have worked and done a herculean job! Both saving these whom were possible to save, and trying to save these whom didnt make it.

Are the living kittens round and furry all over?  Or scrawned hairless?   good you start weighing them as soon you can, to get a count and sure knowledge how they are developing.

One of forumists had a persian, whom always delivered on day 58, and all the litters were OK.  Day 58 is unusuallly early, but it shows there are some natural differences in different maternity lines.

Yet the big majority demands over 60 days, clearly more.

61 days is earlier than average, but doesn't mean the kittens will struggle. Some cats go early. Congratulations on the 3 kittens. Excited to see photos!

Well had me & Bella had a bad night, the smallest kitten had fading kitten syndrome, the noise was awful, poor little thing. On the other hand, Bella's other two babies are doing really well. Both have strong cries, both eating constantly.
They are really lovely, so far they both look like their dad, blue mackerel tabby Persians.
Pictures of their Dad, my Tommy Boy and them. I think it's safe to say that one of them is a boy, he has knackers like he's dad!
