My tabby who is a year and a half just got her first infection, watery eyes, sneezing and stuffed up nose. Its getting worse and i have no 24 hr emergency vets near me and all the vets are booked for a week. She's eating and drinking but is looking very bad like no energy I'm scared i don't want to lose her :( and my other cat is starting to sneeze so i separated them. I feel so helpless watching her and iv been crying all day i don't want to lose her and my other baby

Hi Alexandra. Please don't panic. Although it looks bad. Your kitty will survive until you get her to the vet. Cats can actually survive weeks with URI. she will probably be prescribed Amoxicillan and be feing better in no time. Best of luck!

Hi there,

If you can you can run the shower on hot and close the bathroom door with you two in there. It will help break up some of the mucus in your babys nose. Also add water to wet food-the key is to keep moisture going in. They do feel miserable. If you can get an appointment in a couple days they may give subfluids to help hydrate. Thats pretty much all they can do if its viral. They have to run their course. so letting kitty sleep and get plenty of food/water just like us when we are sick. some cats have a few bad days and some take 3-4 weeks to get over it but most of the time they are fine-its like a cold with us-we feel like run over by a truck...hoping your baby gets better soon!

So just to update, I took her to the vet this morning she had a viral infection, Vet gave her a shot for her 104 fever and some other meds. No signs of a real change but not getting worse either so let's hope for the best. Also have my other kitty separated and on antibiotics and kitty vitamins to prevent her from getting sick also.
