yay, introduction time! i'm kate, and this is my darling margaret aka peggy:
we met entirely through serendipity when my parents surprised me with a trip to the spca for my 18th birthday. she was just a few days out of surgery at that time: she'd been in some sort of accident that left her dragging her front left leg, and her previous owners weren't able to afford an amputation, so they had surrendered her to give her a better life. i have cerebral palsey and have been on the operating table a few times myself, so i felt an immediate connection with her - i like to think she felt the same way, since she bothered to sit up and press herself up against the cage door. i looked at a few other cats, and they were all nice, but i was already completely in love.
it's obvious who i brought home that day, and we've been inseparable ever since. between peggy and her gal pal marty the maltipoo, the house is always busy, and her missing limb hasn't slowed her down one bit
