Hello!
I'm hoping to get some help here. My husband and I just took in a pregnant stray. I've no idea how far along she is, but she's definitely showing. She's been eating ALOT. (But I don't know how long she's been outaide, either) Shes very loving. Purring almost all the time, rubbing up against anyone and anything. Haha but she's also kneading everything, including myself and my husband! [emoji]128514[/emoji] We've set up a box in the corner of our bedroom with some small thin blankets for comfort. She is sleeping alot, but this morning she was just constantly meowing. It was almost like she felt lonely. Any ideas on what to look for next and how far along she MAY be?

Can you feel the kittens moving?  Do you see any discharge?

In terms of preparation, have you treated her for fleas?

Thank you for taking this mama in!

Welcome to TCS.

There are a couple bench marks to help predict when she will give birth.  Cats start showing around five weeks along.  The next is seeing and feeling the kittens move.  This happens 2-3 weeks before she gives birth.  During the last 48 hours she can lose her mucus plug, have her water break and 'drop'.  Of course cats being mysterious and all, refuse to stick to an exact timetable.

Here is a little light reading for you.

Thanks for the replies! We have felt some movements in her belly, but haven't really "seen" any. But she's black with thick fur, so it's difficult to notice. Right now she looks line she has a football or volley ball in her belly so she hasn't dropped yet. Thanks again, and I will try to post pictures!
