I rescued a kitten from my old residence. After 2 months of me moving I notice she is very heavy with kittens. At first I thought she was getting super fat and kept eating my dogs food instead of her own. I can see the kitties kicking pretty hard, knotting up at times and momma is so miserable. For 2 weeks she never wants me to be away from her, meowing at the door when I go outside etc. She will lay outside of my bedroom door at night waiting for me to get up but she doesn't like to come in my room where it is dark a quiet. I've heard that she will lick herself a lot when getting ready for labor but she actually can't reach! Seems like I've been watching her like a hawk for 2 weeks now and nothing. Been seeing the babies moving for at least 1 week. Can anyone relate and my goodness how much longer can she go? We are overly excited waiting om these babies!

You usually see babies move 2-3 weeks before delivery.

Now would be a good time to set up nests for her and to pick up some kitten supplies! You'll need a scale to weigh them each day, some kitten milk replacer (kmr, powdered is best), and a needleless syringe.

Feel free to post any questions and updates in this thread!

I have her a nest made, she will climb in every now and then and I have seen her sleep in it a couple nights before she became really heavy. Now she just kinda plops over on her side on the floor. I did buy some kitten formula so I'm prepared there. It's getting to the point I hate to leave the house because she's always wanting to be close to me. Waiting is killing me lol.

Is it normal for momma to shake like she is cold right before labor? I just noticed she's shaking. She has been acting unusual today, not eating like she is starving instead trying to cover the food.

It sounds like she is in stage one labor. It can cause shaking when the contractions are intense. It can also last up to 24 hours. Stage 2 is pushing. Offer her comfort if she'll let you. Let us know how it goes! [emoji]128522[/emoji]

Well reading the forums here I decided to try putting a T-shirt over the box, she would get into it before but not for long. I caught her under my dresser which has a very small opening so I had to do something different. She immediately climbed in and started fixing her bed! I'm too excited and can't wait for the babies to get here. The shaking has stopped but she still hasn't gotten far from me. Still isn't eating much either.

I don't, she has been pushing for over 12 hrs now. I'm so worried and heartbroken at this point. It will cost $800 to get her into a vet and I don't have that much tonight so no vet will help me.

12 hours is way to long to push. If she does manage to get this one out, be prepared, it may not survive. If she doesn't get it out, all of them could die. I would take her to your local humane society. You will have to sign her over but you'll be saving her life.

Good luck and keep us posted! I will be praying she passes this one. <3

Oh dear. Mama and babies are both in serious danger at this point. Can you look into opening a care credit card?

I've checked into everything available, humane society can't take her for a couple of days due to over crowding. I am a responsible pet owner. I rescued this baby and nursed her to health and spent a great deal doing so. Myself nor the vet knew she was pregnant at the time. This hit 3 days before payday so no I can't afford to pay $2000 for an emergency room visit tonight. I've sat by this baby for hours now crying and praying she will make it through tonight. So handsome kitty even though you posted the link to help, I surely don't need to read something about being a responsible pet owner at this time! Not everyone has a $2000 bundle lying around the house. I'll have what I need to get her into the office in the morning. She can use all the prayers she can get ty.

The emergency vet in my area doesn't accept care credit yet unfortunately. The ones that do I can't get to tonight.

I'm sorry I haven't found it. It's a list of places that give money for cat health care.  I've seen it posted in different threads but I can't remember what any of them were.  I think @Margd is the person who has been posting the list.  Hopefully she will see this and post them for you.

I need to go take care of my cats.  Hang in there.

I would be there when the vet opens and insist she be seen. Good luck to both of you. Please update!
