I think the kitten and mom will settle in shortly, possibly once she's done delivering.  Can you get a scale to weigh the kitten(s) every day?  That's how you can be certain they're gaining enough.

Are they nursing well now? Emergency glop can be as simple as condensed milk, an egg yolk, a spoon of sugar, and a spoon of mayonnaise. What's the status?

Thank you everyone and sorry for the long delay but I was at work with my fiance watching over things. Moma and baby are doing well. Still only one baby. The little one seems to have the hang of nursing now. Thanks for all of your help. Got the stuff or emergency glop if I need it and will be picking up some KMR Tuesday so I will have it on hand as I needed it with the previous litters. I will try to get a weight for the baby here soon.

Edit. Anyone ever had a kitten make a gurgling type noise while crying before? Mama went to get a drink and the little one started crying and was crying for a minute then it sounded like he was gurgling and that's when I scooped him up and gave him a few light pats on the back with his head down. His cry is normal now. This is clearly something to watch. But the little one is nice and strong and nursing well.

Edit. Got a weight of 126g

I'm pretty sure I feel a second kitten within her still that hasn't been born yet. She's sleeping and letting me rub over her tummy and sides. I'll update as things happen or in the morning as I may try to get some sleep. It's almost two am here.

Well done!  Better safe than sorry, better do one extra precausion just if, than risk anything.

Weight of 126g short after delivery is very good, clearly above average even.

Re your next post.  You surely know pauses are common, hours even days.  As mom is OK no troubles, watch out, but you can wait and see.

If your vet is experenced obstetrician, you can consult him, perhaps on the phone, thought.   With that big first kitten that big the probability is the other kitten is done too.

yeah waiting for the time being will be calling the vet soon. But I dont think my near by vet is specilises in anything. they have no clue about cats but are pretty good with dogs. I just have no disire to be treated like an idiot if I can avoid it though its been 13 hours since the last kitten. Mama is doing fine though and resting with the first one. I moved her into my bedroom so she can relax and not have to be on guard constantly as I have other pets.

Good you have her in her own safe quarters.   If the other pets arent her best friends, its mandatory to separate.

Re vets and them being experienced obstetrician.  The basics vet doings, ie making a cesarean or giving "delivery injections" can any decent vet do. Its a big part of their training.   Even a big animal vet should be able to do it.

The problem is, cats are quite different than humans.  So they are vice versa our usual instincts. Too early delivery is alwayd dangerous to the kittens - they manage being prematures much much worse than human babies.  While they usually manage a too long pregnancy better than humans.  But that other is not ironclad, bad outcomes with late deliveries does happens now and then, - and Im wondering if the wait was too long -   or it was just the fate...    But the 19 of 20 advice is to wait, it pays well in the long run.

The biggest risk with an uneperienced vet is he does what he is able to do, ie makes a cesarean - momma is OK, but kittens are often too early - and the fight uphill starts.

So this is an act of balancing on a rope, of instincts on both owner/ caretaker,  us advising here, - and the vet.

True, trying to figure out the best course of action as she seems a bit stressed now.could be the room switch so I am trying to get her to settle down. I just know she and my other cats usually dont get along she attacks them and now they will back away and hiss at her when she gets close to them. she seems to be slowly but surely settling down as she relizes shes got everything in here too.Includeing her baby. though she keep trying to grab him around the neck. I am watching and talking to her softly when she does she stops and looks at me and then settles again for a few mins anyway. I am hopeing that this all settles soon so i can sleep.

over 15 hours now mama passing lots of gas but no babies. belly rubs are helping to calm her though

for my own records first kitten was born at 3:18 pm I noticed tia was in labor around 1:40 pm and noticed heavy labor around 3:10pm. first kitten appears to be entirely black.

update before I try to get a bit of sleep. I switched the box back into the living room as thats where tia wants to be with her baby. after about four hours it was clear that being in my bedroom wasnt gonna work. staying in here to keep an eye and ear on things. Tia has relaxed again and settled in with her kitten.

She may have the other kitten soon, or it could be a few days if she mated several days apart. She also may have a lumpy uterus that needs to shrink down. Time will tell. It sounds like she's doing well. [emoji]128522[/emoji]

Mom and baby are doing fine still. In the same standstill as before still waiting around to see if she will go into labor on her own. Still feel the kitten and some movement. It'll be 24 hours since I first noticed she was in labor in about 20 mins.

They can deliver babies on different days entirely.  There is no rush as long as mom seems happy and comfortable.  You're also getting positive feedback because the baby is still moving.

Yeah I know which is why I am just watching and trying not to fuss over her to much. I just know this is kinda risky. I've been doing at lot of research as well as all the responses I get on here and it's all saying that all is well and this is fine. So I'm not really worried more concerned as with the last litter she had of five they where all born within hours.

How old is she?

It's really not risky at this point.  I think you'll know if something is wrong.

Just wait. It will probably be born sometime this week. We've had folks on here with kittens born almost a week apart.
