I have a question I stated earlier that her stomach was getting so hard you could see the outlines of the kitten and then I thought they moved...well it has happened a few times what are the possibility of it being contractions?

When my cat was about to give birth she started panting and crying, Never let her to give birth under your bed! Just in case there are complications because if she does have complications giving birth you may not be able to reach out for her.

Here are a few useful tips-

When cats are about to give birth their rectal temperature will drop below 100 degrees F (37.8 degrees Celsius) She will stop eating and she will want a lot of attention wanting you to know that she is about to give birth. Sometimes cats will dig around in the litter box, dont let your cat give birth in the litter box because the litter will suffocate the kittens so it is best to let her give birth in a cardboard box with lots of blankets and towels to keep her and her kittens warm, it is very important that you keep the mom warm because her temperature has already dropped below a 100 degrees. Your cat will also be cleaning her genitals to prepare for giving birth,

Birth

When cats give birth, they pant because of the amount of oxygen left in her due to the fact that the kittens are being pushed towards the birth canal, every time a kitten is born a placenta is attached to it along with the umbilical cord attached to the kittens abdomen, the mother cat usually eats the placenta so dont worry, the umbilical cord is also cut away by the mother, if your cat does not eat the placenta or chew away the umbilical cord then get scissors and cut the umbilical cord and the placenta  , do not cut the umbilical cord too short though. It is important that you dont interrupt your cat while shes giving birth because you could get her more stressed than she is, it is better to just watch  unless you cat is experiencing some complications. If the kitten appears to be stuck in the birth canal , try and gently pull the kitten out, dont pull the kitten out too hard or else the kitten could die, if this does not work then you would have to get your cat to a vet imediently because your cats life could be in risk if this happens.

Breathing

The cat must lick the kittens face so all the fluids could be cleared from its nose, if your cat does not do this then you have to get a tissue or cloth and wipe the kittens face and inside its mouth to clear its airways, if the kitten is making gurgling sounds, not moving or bubbles are coming out then clean its mouth and face or wrap it in a cloth and gently rub the kittens back to stimulate breathing, if this does not work then keep the kitten in the cloth and swing it up and down like an arc several times till the kitten moves and breathes.

Remember, you can only sell the kittens when they are 3 months old, i asked a vet and they told me this

She can have dark or orange boys, and dark, orange, or tortie/calico girls. Just about any color really! Depending which genes she and the father cat carry.

Yep, she's in labor.  She is purring to soothe herself.

Don't drink much, if you need the bathroom she will most likely get up and follow you there and back.

The small pushing is just her retracting her paws, her claws in her paws will start to retract in and out- it is comforting for them, she will probably give birth very soon she is retracting her paws because she is probably uncomfortable because of the heavy amount of weight the kittens have taken up, the retracting claws thing is to comfort her
When kittens are nursing, they retracts their claws around the mothers nipples to make more milk travel to its body.

Hmmm, so she is sitting on top of the box? Cute little thing

Probably you should try encouraging her to go in the box by making her eat her meals in there.

Did you include anything comfortable in the box like towels and blankets?

What did you put in there?

Cats are quite picky they dont like and materials like foil and plastic

Did you put her birthing box on the counter? If yes then its not really a good place to put it because the kittens can fall out very easily and probably get badly injured.

Whoa thats hard to think about ! It is possible that she could have black kittens with a little bit of black and brown tortoiseshell colors like your cat and there will have to be either black and ginger kittens or just plain ginger and she could have ginger tortoiseshells , it sounds like there will be a lot of females in Midnight's litter because tortoiseshell cats are all female and there is a possibility that some of the kittens in midnight's litter will be a breed of tortoiseshell but there will be a mixture of ginger tortoiseshell kittens, black, brown and ginger tortoiseshells, pure black kittens, black tortoiseshells and ginger kittens. Sounds like there could be more than 6 kittens about to be born.

Midnight could even give birth to kittens the same color and breed from Midnight's family and the fathers family, they could be any color even the colors from Midnight's mothers mother and mother... and so on or her mothers fathers father and so on.... or her fathers mothers mother.. This will sound confusing but it is true....

When you spay your cat after she has had her litter- she will stop producing kittens which will affect part of  midnight's family and it will stop going on unless her kittens had kittens but if all the members of midnight's family were spayed and neutered then her family will stay as it is but when all the cats die, that family will no longer exist..           Its very beautiful how a cats family tree works..

A Siamese cat broke the record of giving birth to 17 kittens
