herpes help please!

sept/2015 my 10 yr old siamese, asia, had DDS cleaning & to my shock had 2 canines extracted, 2 mos aft was diagnosed w/1st herpes outbreak & bottom half of only 1 eye was cloudy, steroids/antibiotics given, 2 mos later, same, 2 mos. later same again! asia will not allow me to administer any meds at home. any help appreciated, thx. lynn

She really needs to have eye drops in her eye twice a day or she faces permanent damage to her eyes.  Even if you have to wrap her up in a towel, it's important to get drops in her eyes.  Then, you need to work on her overall health.  Switch to a grain-free diet and start supplementing with Lysine.  Be sure to give her the flare up dose of 1000mg a day, divided into two doses.  I mix lysine into wet food with a little bit of water added since lysine dissolves easily in water.  You can also try a daily antihistamine if you think it's due to the seasons changing.  Lastly, run a Feliway diffuser to help her destress since stress seems to aggravate herpes. 

ETA:  Oh!  And try not to give steroids as that suppresses the immune system and her immune system is already compromised.
