Our Foster is having babies any day now. She's been nesting, acting crazy (burrying her head in blankets and getting underneath them and climbing the closet doors), nonstop meowing, extremely affectionate, frantically searching around the room, laying on her sides and getting a little breathy.

She's got her milk (day 5 now) but still no babies.

Queen is a first time friendly feral mom. We live in Japan and she's been around a marine dormitory since she was a kitten. She's great for morale and they enjoy her and enjoy feeding her. When she became super pregnant she began venturing into the dorms to find a nest and the commander was threatening animal control so the guys contacted us to take her for now so she can get the care she needs and get spayed and we can find her babies loving homes before returning to dorm life!

I'm going to pick up a thromometer today however main concern is could this actually be labor? Maybe she's not progressing as normal? Also how long after her milk comes in is too long to not have babies. I saw 1-2 days especially for first time queens is the norm but we're now on day 5 and wondering when should she go to the vet or is it really just a variation?

I've been researching the crap out of pregnant cats I've never fostered one or had one before but I'm so excited. I am a doula for human moms, birth is my element and I'm over the moon to help this kitty!

Congrats! I am glad she went into labor without a problem and now you'll have lovely kittens on your hands. How feral/friendly is she? I am fostering a semi-feral queen who had four kittens three weeks ago.

I'm so glad to hear that everything is going so well.  Those kittens are adorable.
I hope you'll post lots of photos of them over the next few weeks.

Gave birth two days ago and I found a dried up tapeworm on her bum and on the towel in with her kittens!

Does everyone need to go get dewormed? I assume the tapeworms can be transmitted through the placenta and milk?

Thanks in advanced.
Also do I put them all in one carrier?

Babies cannot be dewormed until they weigh at least a pound. I would get a poo sample and take it to your vet and most likely they will give you whatever dewormer she needs. Make sure the vet knows that the kitty is nursing babies as many dewormers are unsafe to use. I'm not sure if tapeworms can be transmitted through milk but they cannot be transmitted through the placenta. It's best to avoid taking trips with new ones because they could get sick very easily or momma could get upset and accidentally hurt one.

Its roundworms whom can go through mom.   The mildest dewormers can be used on healthy kittens already at 2+ weeks - for example mild Pyrantel preparates..

That tapeworm must come from momma. They can get tapeworm from prey animals, or from fleas, whom are inbetween hosts.

So in an older kitten can have had tapeworms if they were flea infested, but not the newborn.
