Hi everyone!

I have a rescued 11 month old Maine Coon Mix, and I've been noticing a brownish-reddish discharge from the corner of my cat's eye. Two days ago, my cat had unequal dilated pupils, the next day they seemed better, and the third day her eyes pupils seemed almost entirely normal.

However, I still took her to the vet, thinking it might be something serious. The vet examined my cat's eyes and told me they looked fine, and explained that the cat's eye discharge may be from parasites, so he gave me de-worming medicine, profender to be exact (she has been de-wormed before).

I had a hard time understanding my vet's accent, but he said something along the lines of parasites causing infections near the eyes. I am a new cat-owner and this has been my first visit to the vet,  I'm not sure I feel confident about my cat's treatment. Did anyone have a similar experiences to this? I couldn't find anything about using profender to treat eye problems, so I was hoping I can get more information.

I would find a new vet.  Most likely the discharge is caused by either an upper respiratory infection or allergies.
