Well, it's been more than four months since my cat got lost. I can say I've moved on but of course occasionally i get sad whenever i think of him or see his pictures on my phone.

anyway, i had a dream last night. i was in this some subdivision and i was trying to get out. on my journey, there i saw a white cat. it was him!!! so i went to him and gladly embraced him. he was cold to me and just cleaning himself while i was doing all the drama haha. but ironically, i set him free. instead of bringing him with me (which in real life i would oh so do) i bid good bye. i dont know but somehow i knew he wouldnt come with me. so there. when i told him goodbyle he pounced away from me as i look at him be gone from my sight.

well, i guess that dream serves as a "formal" good bye with my hasler since i never knew what happened and why he was gone. i guess i reached another level of letting him go. I still miss him tho. always.

The not knowing is far worse then the worst true scenario. I do believe your Hassle visited you in your dreams to reassure you that he was OK. They want so much to comfort us in our grief because they would never want to be the reason to cause us such pain.He is trying to tell you to pick yourself up and to be happy again, he will be with you forever, that bond is something that can never be broken, not from miles that separate you, or even death. No matter where he is at the moment, whether with a new life or at the Rainbow Bridge, he will love you and hold that piece of your heart he took with him safe in his heart, just as you hold the piece he left you in your loving heart. I cry for the pain you are going through, and will keep you both in my thoughts and prayers. Try to keep busy, and allow yourself to open up to what he is telling you, he will come again in your dreams and comfort you with your precious memories.

I used to have the same kind of dreams when George missing. I used to put food out in places where feral cats congregate and leave my trail camera there over night, hoping that George would show up. One night I had a dream that George was watching me do this and he was angry with me for feeding other cats.

Another night I had a dream where I woke up in the middle of the night to let some of my other cats in. When I opened the window for them George came running into the room too. He ran straight to his food bowls and started to eat. It was so real! I woke up really believing he was home again.

Finally I had a dream where I was in a big, abandoned hotel. George was there playing with his friend Zebedee. George and Zebedee were born just a few days apart and were the best of friends, but when Zebedee was 6 months old he was hit by a car and killed. In the dream they were kittens again and playing together. George told me that he was going to stay with Zebedee from now on, but that I should leave.

That's when I realised that he was really gone and I would never see him again.

It takes a long long time to get over them @Hasler The Cat  . You go through stages of grieving and stages of not believing they've gone and stages of feeling like you've accepted it, only to find yourself grieving again.

They leave their paw prints in our hearts.

Thanks guys. i know we fellow cat lovers understand each other. I try to bond with my other cat but it is as if im expecting her to be like hasler. of course she isnt so deep inside i get disappointed. i know it was wrong. haha. every cat is different as they have too their own personalities. Point is, i guess it would just really take time for me to have the same bond that i had with hasler to other cats--if i allow myself. Again thanks guys for your words! :)

Who knows? One day he might return.

It’s going to be a year since my darling Jethro Crossed the Rainbow Bridge. I have been dreaming (at least four days in a week) about him, other cats and kittens. In the dreams they come near me, sit with me or next to me or play with me. No cat tried to run away on seeing me or separate from me. This morning I dreamt about rounding stray cats. There was one big white cat with irregular orange patches on his back escaped from the pick-up van, climbed a mound. When he saw me approaching, he came back and jumped into my arms!

Whenever I go out, I look at Jethro’s urn (containing his ashes) resting on his favourite sofa, tell him how long I’ll be away. Before I go to bed I kiss the urn and say ‘good night.’
