Hey guys, so I've had my kitten for almost a week now. She's 11 weeks old. Before I got her she was on science diet dry and a small can of science diet wet a day.
I've been transitioning her slowly onto Orijen dry and have both wellness core wet kitten and nutro natural choice kitten.
The past few days she's had bad diarrhea. She's acting totaly normal, eating plenty and playing.
I'm just concerned because it's complete liquid (sorry for the visual!) and she has long hair which makes for a disgusting mess.
Should I cut out the wet food for now and see if that helps? My goal was to get her on an entirely wet diet but I'm being told to take her off the canned food to stop the diarrhea.

Thanks for any input!

Any change in diet can cause diarrhea. I personally have never had a problem with switching wet foods it the dry that gives the upset. I know its a strange question but what color is it? Has she been tested for parasites?

Also, Orijen is a very rich food and may be causing the problems.  How old is your kitty?

I know she's been to the vet for all routine exams and vaccinations but will double check to make sure she's been tested for parasites. It's brown in color.

@stephanietx she is 11 weeks old. But, the majority of her food since I got her has been wet. Today I was home all day so didn't have to leave out any dry, and she still had it bad. Maybe I should have gradually introduced the wet instead of giving her all wet immediately.

It's most likely the food is too rich for her at that age.  I am a big proponent of grain free, but for kittens, I really really like Royal Canin babycat food.

Remember to gradually change the dry food.  I start with a 25% new to 75% old dry food ratio and build up over a period of 3 weeks to 100% new food.  I actually fed a mostly kitten food/grain free dry food mix to Tumbles for about 8 months when he was a kitten.  Then I backed off the kitten food to transition him off the kitten food when he was about 9 months or so.  He was still getting a high quality grain free canned kitten food for the bulk of his meals.  We also used to feed him 5 wet food meals a day when he was about the same age as your kitty.  We gave him dry in between.
