My cat Gator is a good 9+ years old now, He has what I call "Black Patches" (A tad lighter then the actual color black) The pictures below is the back of his feet... He also has this what I call "Black Patch" on one of his front paws.. I know he's not in pain, but iv'e always been curious to what it is... When he was younger he did have a stroke and both of his back legs were paralyzed until I gave him some Omega 3 Fish Oil, He came back to life.. We also brought him to the vet, But it was so long ago that I don't remember if they diagnose the problem or not, but I'm hoping that its nothing serious.

I'm assuming the spot(s) have always been there. But cats can have multiple colors on their paw pads, it's perfectly natural.

Here is a picture of my cat, Tesla. He has both black and white on all his paw pads...

However, if you're absolutely positive that the spot(s) on his paw is a new development, I would suggest making an appointment with the vet just to be safe.

Thanks for telling me it's perfectly natural.. The spots have been there for a good 5+ years (As far As I can remember Back), That makes me happy knowing all is good. I guess today  I was just a little concern for him, and completely forgot about the spots on his paws.

I've had several cats with multicolored paws too, but there are a few things to check out to see if it is congenital or a problem. Are the colored patches raised at all or flat? Is the cat bothered  at all, limping, chewing at spots, any discharge or blood? My cat developed 'freckles'  (black spots) on his nose a little later in life, the vet said they were from the sun and not to be bothered unless they expanded quickly or became raised.  You might want to observe them whenever you think of it, maybe even write it on your calendar to remind yourself, and see if there are any changes. If not they are something he was most likely born with, or age spots from getting older. Have your vet check it the next time you are in. All the luck!
