Good evening all. My queen is 51 days and I'm worried that she has begun nesting already. While I have been very involved with my mom's queens this is first of my own and I don't ever remember it being this early. Quite concerned that she may have them sooner but not sure if perhaps I could be misreading the sivns? She is a Himalayan x ragdoll. First litter. Restless, off her food, drinking lots, very vocal

It could be just that her maternal instincts are kicking in - let's hope so. They get uncomfortable and can also have some Braxton-Hicks type pains, but she needs to go 2 more weeks. Keep us posted.

She has since stopped her bizarre behaviour of making crying sounds and restlessness. Should I be alarmed by this? 54 days

No, not at all. She still has at least 10 days to go, and you may see more quirky behavior as she gets closer! [emoji]128522[/emoji]

how soon does labour kick in ? my cat is due any day and is currently fast asleep . does this mean she is down for the count or could it wake her up?

She will definitely be awake when she is in labor, though she may nap during some of that process too. Cats usually carry for 65 days, but don't worry. She will go into labor when she's ready.

Do you know when she mated? Do you plan to spay when her the kittens are weaned?

She should be due at the end of this week, then. Did you mate her on purpose?

How old is your cat? Is this her first birth? Where did you find the male?

I'm confused on the math. She was 51 days along 3 weeks ago? If you're sure about that and haven't seen kittens I'd consider going to the vet?

Today would be day 65. (21 days in Feb, 31 in March and 13 in Apr.)  Some cats go 70 days so she is still in the range.  A trip to the vet is stressful for cats so I'd wait if it wasn't an emergency.

Right, but according to her first post, 22 days ago, she was already 51 days? That's where I got confused. Then I saw she said Feb 7 th.
