Okay so some of you might know that I gave one of my rescue's Cipher to my cousin for his female-cat. He promised me that he'd look after them well, that he knew how to handle the kittens properly, that he would tend to them if they were injured or sick.
Well he lied.
And now one of the 8 week old kittens is horribly hORRIBLY lethargic, won't eat, is growling if you try and touch him, and has next-to-no strength when it comes to walking. He keeps wobbling and falling over. He apparently used to be the strongest out of the litter before this happened. Another one of them has a slight breathing problem (you can hear him breathing when u put him close to your face). The other two babies, thankfully, are alright.
I'm just... so mad at my cousin at the moment because not only is he neglecting the care of this 8 week old kitten, but he's also NOT giving the medicine that the vet prescribed! He's not giving the kitten any medicine at all! I have no idea if the kitten has ate or not, but by the looks of it he's been acting off since Saturday -- that's like three days away :/ I doubt he's had much to eat since then and he's probably dehydrated and lethargic bc he hasn't eaten. According to my cousin, the kitten hasn't puked or done any runny poo's either. Though then again, my cousin only see's them for like an hour every day (he keeps them in this large factory kinda place because his parents don't like cats in their house ://///)
He lives 2 hours away and it's currently almost 9pm so I can't do anything about it. But like... idk why I'm even posting this I just... feel so guilty :/ If only I had kept cipher with me and somehow got him to adjust with Button and Indie... hhngh.
Anyway, have any of you had any experience with this? I know that I probably don't have all of the kittens symptoms and I can't check his gums for dehydration and eyes for response to light etc. But if you have any help that would be extremely great...
Also, it might be worth noting that vet's over here aren't exactly vets... they're more based on experience rather than actual animal biology. They don't know how animal's bodies work or react to certain substances etc. The vet that my cousin saw (it also happened to be the same vet that treated my cat Button, when in fact he just had an intestinal obstruction... the vet prescribed flagyl) also prescribed flagyl to the kitten... though I don't see why as there's no vomiting or runny poos :/
I'm so confused as to what to do here... if anyone could help someone that'd be great.
