Happy Spring/Fall everyone!!  We had a crummy first day of spring here; but the robins have been busy here for weeks.  Daffodils are blooming and my tulips are sprouting.  Tress are flowering and I'm dispensing allergy medication to my kids.
So yes spring is here!!  And that has me thinking of my garden and all the fresh produce that we will have available in the next few months.  My mother is craving asparagus.  I personally am looking forward to fresh local strawberries and peaches!!

What do you look forward to in the spring time?

For me it's everything!!  I'm always on the lookout for the first robin of spring.  One year they came at the end of January!  I was beyond excited!!  Those early Spring nice days where you can enjoy the outdoors but there aren't many bugs to bother you are so refreshing after being stuck inside all winter.  Watching things come alive and then moving into planting and early fruits has become a highlight.  I bought my first jar of Nutella the other week and discovered how absolutely amazing it goes with sliced fresh strawberries!!
I never let myself buy a jar before because I knew i'd like it too much.  I was right.  So good!  But really; I've been craving strawberries and fresh fruits for a few weeks.  I think my body is ready for spring too!

Flowers, baby animals, baby people, weddings, graduating school, baseball [emoji]128525[/emoji], peaches, spring break, cookouts, family time, and bonfires. Spring is my favoritest season of them all [emoji]10084[/emoji]️ I can't wait for bright mornings and late nights to officially kick into full swing! Spring is when the earth decides she wants to wake up for awhile [emoji]128522[/emoji]

mmmmmmm Smell those lilacs!

Long days, short nights. Daffodils, tulips, the blooming redbud and chestnut trees in the front yard, POPPIES! Love poppies; we took a bunch from my parents' property. Poppies are a real bugger to transplant, but these did well. Beautiful orange flowers.

Asparagus (on our Easter menu) and I think we're going to get some from our garden for the first time!, strawberries ripe from our garden.

Warm sunshine, open windows to let in the fresh air, no more wearing bulky winter clothes and jackets, baby wildlife, longer days, taking near daily after dinner walks outside or heading to the gym (ok so the gym is in the next building over but there's no way I'm going to freeze heading over in my gym clothes. There's no locker room to change in or store my stuff), flowers, outdoor activities, farmer's markets.

This year I'm really looking forward to seeing how my peony fared over the winter.  I planted it last year, my first one. I have no experience growing them.  I know they do well in my area but I still have some trepidation.

I noticed that it's pushing out of the dirt a few days ago so looks like it is doing ok.  Last year, I didn't get any blooms off of it - they say the first year planted they won't flower so I'm really excited to see what happens!

Although life has been teaching me to live more in the now and not worry so much about the future... I guess I'm looking forward to warmer days and cool nights. There's also this slight dread because I hate the warmer weather that will be following it. But, today is today, and it's a beautiful day out.

On my work days, not having it dark when I go in and dark when I leave.

I work night shifts, and through the winter I go to work in the dark and go home in the dark. Now the sun is rising while I'm still at work, and although there's not been any amazing sun rises yet this year, this is what I'm looking forward to seeing again soon. It's a bit crooked as it was taken from a side window in  the office.

Wisteria.  And...yeah...wisteria.  The thing is, I have over 400 pollen and air-born allergies, so Spring is the start of the "Oh my God I can't breath" season, which lasts from mid-March through to late October.  I will have hives and itchy spots despite taking Claratin three times a day.  I will spend several nights sleeping in my wing back chair because i can't breathe lying down.  I'll also have several bouts of vertigo in the next couple of weeks.  And again in the fall, around the Equinox.  I do not know why this is. but it's a real lady dog.

I love looking out my window at the flowers, but don't dare be out there with them.   From now till October I will not go outside for pleasure.  Puts a damper on things.

I have to laugh.  2 years ago our neighbors moved to Arizona; where the wife was from.  Last fall my friend's parents moved out there. (My friend's mother has been our family photographer for a while.)  The other night I had a dream I was talking to my friend's mother and I don't remember everything; i remember her saying 'This was an imprudent decision."
I remember other people were moving back here too; but not who they all were.  Just that phrase "Imprudent decision" stuck in my mind.  So random!  I talk to children all day; they don't use phrases like that!  Our old neighbors send me some beautiful pictures; but it's not for me.  I need seasons in my life.  Even if I do hate snow on the roads!

"An imprudent decision"?? What on earth were you eating before you went to bed?

I do love spring, I do love summer, and I can even handle fall. You can keep the snow on your roads, thank you very much!

It was either Oreos or fruit.  I don't remember!
I did fall asleep watching TV; but it was just the show Diggers on Netflix.  So that doesn't fit either.
Maybe my brain just wanted to remind me that I used to have a nice vocabulary used for things beyond the kindergarten crowd.

I love it when the flowers and trees start blooming. Also, I love seeing the birds. But my very favorite thing is that every year in the spring the geese who are raised here at our pond always pay us a visit to let us know they made it through the winter. :woohoo:

I hear more birds on the trees outside my window and that's lovely. Also, I hear more traffic in the afternoon hours (I live near a busy intersection). I can tell that more people are coming out because Spring and warmth is near!

HEKITTY SPEAKS:  Birdies!  Lots and lots of BIRDIES!  I watches them from the windows.  I chirp at them.  They chirp back.  I don't like that mockybird.  He's a cheeky birdie, hopping around wif his tail feathers all stuck in the air, but I like the OTHER birdies!  Robins are my favoritest.

you know, i think the thing i look forward to the most in spring is that it's not always necessary to keep the wood stove going 24/7, and that means moving less firewood.

but i love so much about spring, really i love all the different seasons.

this year, i've got my outdoors work on my mind, and i'm enjoying the spring blooming flowers in my gardens. i'm also keeping an eye on my strawberry patch, and am thinking i might construct a cover for it -- to keep the chipmunks and rabbits from nibbling on my berries, but also that will let the sun in.
