Our oldest girl Zoe is almost 14 years old. We've had her since she was about 6 mos old. She is the queen bee and loves my 16 year old daughter like she is hers! [emoji]128149[/emoji] (Zoe is the top cat on my avatar )
This past week Zoe wasn't her usual self (noticed Wednesday night). She wasn't vocal, not hungry and irritable. By Thursday morning she seemed more herself. She greeted me for breakfast and ate as usual but maybe a little less.. My daughter fed her her next meal and we went out for a while. By dinner Zoe again was irritable, not hungry and not feeling well.
Friday morning she was happy again and ready for breakfast. We took her to the vet and we ran blood work and she was examined. Nothing noticeable on physical exam, weighs 10 lbs, no fever. One hairball last week but normal pee and poop.
B/w came back good but the vet didn't like that her Globulin was elevated. It was 6.0 g/dL ...range (2.8 - 5.1) . She said this would be because of "infection, inflammation, or cancer" .
We decided to go ahead and do the ultrasound and X-ray to see if we get any answers. The scans will have to be sent to a radiologist to read (happy about that) but it will probably take a week to get the results.
I'm very nervous for my sweet girl. She seems to feel better today but I know something is going on with her and no one is ever ready for that reality!
Thank you for reading.
