ok here is a couple pics if I did this right. First time on this site to stay with me . I got Miss Piper from a shelter. After having her about a week trying to bond with this very scared cat, we noticed her nipples and belly seemed bigger than what we were used to. We have no idea if or when she was in heat, and we have had her 3 weeks. I have a vet app. On Wednesday but just wanted to see what you all thought. If she's with kittens I'm not gonna abort, but if she isn't I will set the app to have her spayed. So pregnant? Or something else?

ok the pic I really wanted to show didn't show. Like I said new here. Hopefully it will this time. Oh and 1 more thing I forgot to add. If she is with kittens she was turned into the shelter that way. It wasn't on my watch.

Beautiful cat! Thank you for adopting her.
Her belly does appear to have a roundness to it. I'd say she 4-5 weeks along. Have you felt any movement? Once you feel kitten movement, then you have 2-3 weeks left to prepare. The vet will be able to tell you on Wednesday for sure by palpating her abdomen. Her nipples do appear to be "pinking up" as well. Keep us posted!

Yeah, if she is indeed pregnant, she's in very early days 4-5 weeks MAX. She could also be having a phantom pregnancy, where she will have all pregnancy symptoms, and then 9 weeks go by and nothing happens. If she doesn't go into heat from now until the next few weeks, then that is also another major indicator. Female cats go into heat every 4 weeks or so.

Just wanted to let you know I took Piper to the vet to see if she was pregnant and indeed she is. Looks like maybe 5 or 6 weeks.

My cat was pregnant when I got her from the shelter. That was 5 weeks ago. If they pink up about 3 weeks that will make her about 7 weeks now bc it was about a week after we got her. Babies are moving good.I've been reading on some of the threads about kitten birth and now I'm scared. I hope everything goes well . I have her a box ready with thin towels in it, but I would like some advice. What else do I need to be prepared incase anything goes wrong? And what do I watch for after they are born to know there is distress? This is the first kitten birth for me in case you couldn't guess. Lol

The first indication of kitten distress is small/low weight gain.  You will want a scale that measures in grams or 1/10th ounces.  Towels are ok  for the first few days.  the kittens cannot retract their claws yet and they can get stuck in the loops.  Fleece, flannel, old blanket or t-shirts are ok.

I am giving you links to some articles, the first will list things you want to have on hand, just in case.

Kittens have been moving good for a couple weeks. Seen just a little bit of milk today. How far along are they by the time this happens?

Hi, that's not necessarily true. Some cats get milk in a week before delivery and some don't get milk until they are done delivering.

She will deliver 2-3 weeks after you first felt the kittens move.

Can you get weights on the kittens? The fourth may need to be supplemented immediately.

She's eating good now. It's been 2 1/2 hours since she gave birth to the last one and I swear it feels like another one still inside. How long can this last for until I know?
