I got honked at twice

I was walking to DG and a vehicle honked at me then when I was walking back home from DG a different vehicle honked at me I have no idea why I was walking on the sidewalk when they honked I acted like I didnt hear the honking
If they honked at me bc they think im sexy or something that don't make sense bc I was wearing a baggy hoodie with half my face covered and long pants basically you couldn't tell what gender or race I was -_-

Any one have an idea why?

Hmmm ... maybe they thought they knew you? Since you didn't look at the vehicles, you probably didn't see who was honking. Maybe they were waving at you?

Sadly, another possibility is Islamophobia. Following 9/11, the rise of ISIS, and the bombings in Boston and Paris, some people have made the false assumption that all Muslims are terrorists. From another cultural perspective, this would be like non-Americans thinking that all white Americans are racist on the basis of the KKK. So ... since you were wearing a hoodie, maybe some people thought that because you had your hair covered you might be Muslim?

Another possibility is gang affiliation. Some gangs do wear hoodies ... so the honks might have been from fellow members OR they might have been from people who were maybe wondering what a member from gang X was in gang Z's territory.

I'm sorry this happened. I can only imagine how unnerving this might have been.
