I tried to get a script for revolution and the office girl said they will not fax script to them over a stolen signature a few years ago. She then launched into stories of selling Frontline that was found to be just water, expired flea treatments, etc.
I was not sure if it was because they were cheaper than her price and she was miffed I was using them or if there was truth to the stories

I use them to get Revolution for my cats.  My vet suggested it, in fact. I've never had any problems with the company and my vets don't mind faxing the scripts to them.

This page includes information provided in response to an email sent to all State and the District of Columbia Veterinary and Pharmacy Boards asking:

"Are veterinarians required under state law or regulation to write prescriptions upon client request, assuming that a patient/client relationship exists and that the vet is already willing to dispense the medication in question from the clinic's own stock?"

Further, this page incorporates recent information developed by the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) and currently available on their web site

Click on the state name for more detailed information.  If your state is in the no column, do check with your state veterinary and pharmacy boards and state veterinary association (see links below) for the current situation - things change rapidly.

I suspected it was more a case of "I want you to pay 40% more because I am your vet" thing.

Kittens mom... It was not a problem with getting the scrip, just that they would not fax it and started giving me all ..did you know what they did? kind of chatter.

Thanks for the input.

Our first vet tried to push a lot of products.
I ended up changing vets and am a lot happier with the new one.

I have used 1-800 premeds many times, mainly for Profender, a topical wormer. They got my vets permission and I didn't even notify him till my next visit, he agreed he liked Profender because it takes care of tape worms in one treatment. So I haven't had any problems with them. I did have trouble with one site, but since I never ordered from them again I can't remember who they were, but it took MONTHS to get my wormer and it came from China, so I was not happy. But it was a lot cheaper, but still not worth it.

I'm so neck deep in the legal aspects of a veterinarians duty it's how I see things now. I have used 1-800-petmeds for several things and never had a bit of trouble. I got my heartworm medication through the VCA but it was very clearly asked if I wanted to call the prescription in somewhere else.

No I have not used them. I have used dr fosters then inhousepharmacy.vu then kiwidrug.com for various meds. If you need compounded meds diamond back pharmacy or Wedgewood pharmacy is one I've heard many good things about.
