For those of you who don't know what passover cleaning is, imagine spring cleaning in on steroids!

We clean every corner of our property (house, cars, yard) to make sure that no wheat products remain as they are forbidden on passover.

Passover is about a month away and my son is having surgery on April 5th AND Sophies suspected due date is the first night of passover (although I think she I'd a bit farther along) so I need to start moving on the cleaning.

I wanted to see if anyone else shares in my cleaning woes...

I do my spring cleaning (which will be done the weekend after Easter), but that's it.

Oh man...spring cleaning seems so nice! I have a solid month of cleaning! And my house is never dirty...messy sometimes, ya but never dirty. But it still takes a month to get in every nook and cranny.

Sometimes I think if people didn't know what I was doing they'd think I'm crazy. I have to clean my kitchen with a tootbrush and toothpicks.

How much wheat do you keep in the house that you need to go to those extremes? Are you wheat farmers??

Lol...everything contains wheat...bread, pasta, pretzels, even licorice.

It gets crazier, I have dishes and appliances just for passover. Two sets of dishes actually, for kosher reasons.

I can't use any food that I already have in my house and need to buy all kosher for passover food for the week. We basically eat cardboard and potatoes for a week lol

But I love passover! It's such awesome family time! We go on trips and spend time together!

I've been helping my mother clean for passover since I was a little girl and have had my own home for 7 years now. So I know the drill...But it still gets the best of me every year!

Especially since this year were going from me and my boys to me, my boys, my mom, and my brother, his wife, and their 5 kids! (In a 3 br house)

Oh, I have bit off more than I can chew!

WOW! That's a full house. I'd already be placing my order here. I'd have a secret stash in every room.

Haha!

Yes, the wine helps! 4 cups on the first night alone!

But my mom is coming from America and my kids are extatic that grandma is coming. The look on their faces make all the cooking and cleaning worth it!

Oh, and Sophie is expecting. I thought she was due first night of passover but now I'm thinking it might be sooner. Either way, 11 people and ??? Kittens.

I guess if it is the first night of passover I'll have to lay off the wine...otherwise she'll have a drunk doula lol

Kittens too!! Wow!  You will be busy for sure!

I have a Sophie too. No kittens for her though. She has been spayed.

Please start a thread when she has them in the pregnant cat and kitten forum or now if you want so we can follow her journey to motherhood. We're suckers for mama kitties and their babies.

I hope everything goes smoothly for her.

Thanks!

She has a forum. It's called "I think she's pregnant..." Although is a bit add sometimes. Nothing too exciting going on yet except for her tiny petite frame is rounding out around the belly.

If she has the kittens before passover, were in the clear! During passover and it will be tough! But we'll manage no matter what.
