Hi all,

My 5 year old male Turkish Angora cat, Talih, has been vomiting since yesterday early morning. It started off as undigested food and is now just foamy bile. He's mentally alert and responds to me talking to him but he doesn't want to move.

I cannot get to the vet yet as it's all booked, but I'm trying.

I have read pepsid AC could help his nausea as well as giving him electrolyte water. I might try these tonight just to settle his belly and get him hydrated.

I'm freaking out and fussing all over the place but there's nothing I can do until I can get an appt with the vet.

Any advise or similar situations that you found a solution to would be greatly appreciated. Or even support, I'm such an anxious mess.

Famotidine (pepcid) should only be given as instructed by a vet.  They never recommend for than a quarter of a 10mg pill.  Ever.  If you are planning to give this to your cat, consult with your vet first.  and do NOT give pepcid COMPLETE.  It is toxic to cats.

He is throwing up foamy bile because his stomach is empty.  How many times has he thrown up?  They dehydrate fast so try to give him some clear pedialyte with a syringe if he isn't drinking on his own.  Does he lay in the meatloaf position?   Undigested food could mean a few things.  Does he have diarrhea too?

I had tried to give him the pedialyte but he threw it up ten minutes later.
Luckily the vet got back to me and I immediately took my kitty to see him. He's been given fluid and anti nausea meds and a b12 shot.
He's still a bit lethargic and seems to be debating on weather he should drink his water yet but so far he's looking a lot better :) I took tomorrow off to monitor his progress and if his vomiting comes back it'll be off to the vet for X-rays

Thank you for the help and concern, it means a lot

Keep an eye on him as he could have a blockage or something like that. Hope it's nothing serious, though!

That is good that he was seen. Definitely keep a close eye. I'm glad he's feeling better
