Hello,

We heat with a wood stove and that is why I ask how hot is too hot.  Our dog is used to the heat in the winter but I'm worried about the new cats.  I woke up late tonight and it was 89 in the house!  Needless to say I opened the windows and now its a more reasonable temp in here.  I will definitely be watching the temperature more closely.  Thanks for all advice!

Wow, that is pretty darn hot. I would be more worried about the dog. My cats like to lay right in front of the wood stove. I swear they are trying to cook themselves! There are lots of cooler places and they just move after a while. Are there cool locations in the house? If so, maybe put some comfy cat beds there.

Yes.  The wood stove is in the dining room and our house is not open concept.  The living room and bathroom are the coolest places.  The dog hangs out in there.  Thanks for the replies!
