I think my neighbor stole my cat

My indoor cat snuck out. I suspect a neighbor is keeping him. She denied seeing him. I know she has many other cats. Other neighbor kids reported seeing a cat matching his description sitting on her driveway and I spotted a cat that looked exactly like him in an enclosure in her back yard. I called the police, they went over there and found a similar looking cat that turned out not to be mine. I don't know whether or not they checked her entire property but she adamantly denied having my cat. I just don't feel right about it! My cat is not the type to wander off and is very trusting. I've attempted to speak with her in person to try and clear the air but it seems she is avoiding me. I Just have a strong feeling in my gut that he is there but what else can I do!?

I hate to assume the worst because I don't know your neighbor, but when I was a kid we lived through some woods from these people and they stole our cat! Like we saw him multiple times in their windows, but they always denied. No telling though, it could go either way. Don't give up on your kitty regardless, look in other places as well!

Have you put up posters and circulated fliers door to door?  I would go knock on her door and hand her a flier.  Tell her sad you are that your kitty snuck out of the house.  I would keep looking elsewhere as there is always a chance she does not have your cat.  Is your kitty microchipped incase it is found and taken to a vet or humane society?    You might also contact local humane societies or vets to see if anyone has brought in a lost/found cat.
