My cat is very young, right at one year old. I didn't think she was pregnant. I just thought she was chubby because she eats alot. Well now it's very obvious as I can now feel and see the kittens moving inside her. I have no idea how far along she is. Could anyone give me an estimate since I can now see the kittens moving?

There are generally 2-3 weeks left when you can see movement. If you aren't already, you'll want to start feeding her wet and dry kitten food. She can eat as much as she wants from now until when she stops nursing. You will also want to set up some nests in dark, quiet places around your home. It's also the time to buy kitten supplies - a small scale, kmr (powdered), and a smal needleless syringe all are handy.

It's very important to keep mom inside through delivery and until the babies are weaned at 8 weeks. She can be spayed at that point. Moms who go in and out can get pregnant again within a week of delivery, not to mention bring back diseases and pests to her kittens.

Thank you! She's acting a bit different compared to usual. She hasn't eaten anything and she's been laying in the same place for the last 3 hours. I have a box in a dark corner but she won't stay in it. I will be getting her spayed asap. Also, I have another female cat that is approximately 5-6 months old. She is very sweet and loving with Minnie (the pregnant one). Do you think she will bother or harm the kittens?

I think as long as Minnie is comfortable your other cat can be around, supervised at first, of course. You're really going to want to follow her lead.

Cats often don't go to their nests until they are ready to deliver so as not to make it dirty and attract predators. It might help to set up a few options though.

If she continues to not eat and doesn't go into labor today I would consider taking her to the vet. She might just be getting ready to deliver, but you don't want to ignore a potential issue with her or the babies.

Your other cat can get pregnant now too, by the way. She is old enough to be spayed, and should not go outside at all until she is. Cats do not have to be in heat to get pregnant.

Oh, I wasn't aware that Jingles could get pregnant so young. Thank you for that info! I never allow her to go outside though. Minnie has been allowed to come and go as she chooses since she was a little thing. I just didn't expect her to get pregnant because we live in a secluded area and didn't know there were any males around.

Males will travel FAR for a mate. You can never assume you're safe, lol. It's also healthier for cats to be spayed in general as they can get uterine infections and cancers.

They will both be getting fixed asap. Minnie must have just been tired this morning. She has eaten well and drank some water, finally.

I took her temp and it's 98.7. I read on another site that if it drops under 100 delivery should be within 24 hours. Is this accurate?

Any progress @PixieCat1979  ?
I feel like something is up. This morning she went through every room sniffing everything. Then for a little bit, we couldn't find her, but eventually found her under my daughter's bed. I moved her to my bedroom with her nesting box, litter box, and food. However, she jumped out of the box and went under MY bed! It's weird because this is something she never does. She doesn't go under our beds, ever!

I bet she is looking for a place she considers safe to deliver in. If you can, get her out from under there and block her from getting under the bed again. You don't want her having her kittens under there where you won't be able to help her if she has complications.

I have nothing to keep her from getting under there. I have decided to just keep the doors to all other rooms closed, that way she can't hide. I will put her in the box when I'm sure she's laboring.

As long as you are able to get to her if you need to to help, and to clean the area she chooses if anything does happen.

Fingers crossed everything goes well for her when the kittens do start to arrive.

Lots of cats deliver under beds and behind couches, and in closets. They like dark, secluded spaces in which to feel safe. Keep us posted! [emoji]128522[/emoji]

Thank you all! No changes today so far. She is so big she can't sit, she has to lay on her side. I don't see how could be much longer.
