Do you wet the toothbrush before or after you put the toothpaste on?

I just saw a very long Facebook debate on this. :lol3:

I actually wet it before and after.

Omg, there was a DEBATE about this?

I used to wet it before, but I don't now, I realized there was no real point to it so just didn't. Definitely afterwords though (ie after I'm done brushing).

Haha, now I have to think about it. . .it's such a mindless routine that I can't say for sure. But I think I wet the brush then put the toothpaste on. If I run the water on the brush after putting the toothpaste on, it might fall off if I haven't squished it into the bristles.

i brush my teeth in the shower...my hair is so long it takes a couple of minutes to get it good and wet so i always wet the brush and add toothpaste then jump into the shower...I just dont have time in the morning. I'm always tired and so much to do taking care of three cats and remember my lunch if i am lucky.

WOW a debate on FACEBOOK?!dont say its so!! I have seen some insane stuff on there :)  But I do love a good Facebook debate.

Before.

And after the toothpaste goes on.

And to clean it off but that seems redundant to even say.

I don't wet the toothbrush before or after I put on the toothpaste.  The toothpaste is wet.  My mouth is wet.  Why add more moisture?  It just dilutes the toothpaste!

I just put the toothpaste on and pop it in my mouth, but I always rinse the brush afterwards. I wonder where we get our habits for this stuff haha!

I have always done it before and then of course rinse the brush afterward.

This is kind of like the toilet paper over or under.  People have actually figured out the percentage that put it on the holder with the paper over or under.

We had a mini-debate about this one time at home; Rick asked me why I put the toothpaste on my brush, then put water on the paste and brush. I don't know why, but that's the way my family always did it, I guess. I just do it that way.

Put toothpaste on the brush, then water. Brush teeth until it shuts off (it's a Philips Sonic Care). Rinse well with warm water and dry with a paper towel and then put it away. Floss, although I may only floss 3-4 times a week.

(Toilet paper is put on however I put it on at any given time. I don't care one way or the other.

I wet the brush before putting the toothpaste on. I find wetting the brush first helps to soften the bristles a little and running water over the brush after has made the toothpaste fall into the sink.
