My cat has been more affectionate and wanting to be indoors. I noticed yesterday she had really swollen boobs and blood tinged mucus. I didn't even think she was pregnant. But with the swollen boobs I thought she must be. I have had he indoors and no sign of kittens. She has been stretching more and wanting cuddles. I did catch her with a male cat at the start of there year but she's shown no signs of pregnancy to now.

Apparently she is preg, and its near now.  Just a few days at most!  Rub her tummy, it helps her, and read on and prepare.

Probably she has a small litter, because you dont clearly see she is high preg.

Dont let her out again, not now to risk she gets the kittens outside.  Also, being high preg, she is practically defenceless if some mean dog or person is after her.

And dont let her out when she got the kittens.  She may get into heat already one week after delivery.  and when in heat, they wants out...

I found a kitten in the garden alive. Poor things had 24hrs without a feed or its mummy. He's now fed and inside warm. Lucky I heard him while I was gardening.

She hasn't seemed worried about going outside so it's strange.

Well done!  What are you giving him?  Weigh him every day, so you are sure he gains... Its the easiest way to get a feeling on how they are doing...

Be sure he (and his kmr / goat milk )are body warm .

If momma isnt taking care of him, so you must.  Along the ideas in handraising orphan kittens.

Yeah, a little strange.  He could be somewhat premature, and if so, her maternity instict has perhaps not kicked in.  But a premature would hardly survive alone out in the open 24 hours.   Although a full time delivered sometimes can.

It may perhaps be a kitten from some other cat?  Mom perhaps dropped a kitten when fleeing from say, chasing dogs.

Please come back with more info, so you will get more advices.

I dont have my links on this computer.

I think your cat may have birthed that kitten! Will she let it nurse? Your cat should have milk! I'm thinking that is her kitten, especially if you did not notice she was pregnant. She may have only had the one. Please put the kitten with mom and see if she will care for it. Also, check around outside to see if there are more!

Can you please post a picture of mom and kitten?

Yes she's nursing for it and caring for it now.
I just thought it was odd she wasn't even worried about being outside. I thought she would stress out not being with it.

That looks like a newborn kitten for sure!  Do you think she is still pregnant?

Please keep her inside until the kitten is 8 weeks old and weaned.  She can be spayed at that time.  Cats can get pregnant again within a week of delivery, and you wouldn't want her bringing any pests or diseases back to the kitten.

Precious picture! [emoji]128149[/emoji]

That is her kitten. I'm so glad you located it and brought it in and put her with mom. She probably just had the one. Please keep them both totally inside now. The kitten has the full milkbar to herself - lucky!

What cats do when they go in and out is they will leave their babies while they go find food. Additionally, new moms often take a day or two to fully adjust and settle into full motherhood. She's inside now with her baby so all should be fine. So glad it's worked out. Please keep us updated! [emoji]128522[/emoji][emoji]128149[/emoji]

Yes, I agree you should make sure there are no more, though it sounds like this is it. Have you checked?
