Hi.
When I was searching an issue about silica crystals I saw I partial post about one persons concern..stating that they stopped using the litter because a problem with the cats feet. I can't find that full post. Can you help me? I've been using the litter for over 6 months. My cat has started coughing and I'm sneezing a lot. This past week my cat has developed sores. .bleeding cuts actually on his back paws. I wanted to know if anyone else's cats have sore or bleeding feet? I use this litter because he's on anti seizure medication which makes him urinate a lot and it's very smelly. Even pine pellets smell. This is the only one that doesn't. I've always used the PC brand silica crystals and maybe the pieces are too big and sharp.

I'm just looking for the original post that was on here from that one person..it was on a thread about silica crystals litter originally posted February 13th. Or anyone else who's cat has had issues with their paws from this litter. Thanks

I'm not sure what post it was that you saw, but it does sound like your cat is not doing well with the silica litter. I'm not sure that a different sized crystal would solve the problem, as the silica itself is a very drying agent and all litters have dust. Perhaps lining the litter tray with a layer of silica crystals to absorb the excess urine, and then covering it with a softer, plant-based litter for his feet will help with the smell? I'm worried about the wheezing and coughing, though. If he's a very good digger then he'll kick up some silica dust regardless.

I'd call your vet and see if there's a safe product to rub on your cat's paws to soothe them. I'm thinking something like this maybe?

Thank you. Might be a good idea.
It's not his paws but higher up on the back leg in the fur. Not sure if it is the litter. I was just looking to see if anyone else's cats had that issue. Like I said when I did a Google search on the product. .in the listing was your site. I read a partial post by someone
