My 19 year old cat is pooping back poop (this is new) and also is throwing phlegm or greenish color . He has always been a cat that throws up so I'm use to this. But the white color n green color has me worried . He also has stopped eating been a day( he has also done this before). He's been standing n grunting like he can't get it out n finally got out black poop which stinks terribly . That is new as he has ALWAYS gone in cat litter box.

My cat is and has always been an indoor cat.
We don't leave garbage lying around so I kno he hasn't eaten anything he shouldn't
He also eats wet cat food same brand n same kind for bout 2years now

Someone have any insight I will b taking him to vet tomorrow if I can get him in then

Thanks inadvance

Is there any way that you could get him seen sooner?

Do you have any emergency vet places around, or places that you can call to tell them the symptoms.

Black poop usually indicates bleeding in the bowels, and greenish phlegm indicates an infection.

Stopping eating is also serious for over 24 hours, in that 'fatty liver' or 'feline hepatic lipidosis' may occur.

If he were mine, I would bring him in right away, but ER vets do cost more, so I would call around to a few, and get their opinions.

I really hope you manage to help your sweet older cat.

Yep I second that. He could also have had a blockage that damaged the intestine so he may be bleeding internally. If you don't take him in I'd monitor his belly to make sure it stays soft. Also I'd monitor his gums to assure they stay pink. This really is a situation given his age that's an emergency. The dark stool that's stinky is due to blood in the stool.?

I think this is a veterinary emergency. Very dark stools signify bleeding in the intestinal tract. Vomiting in combination with this points to intestinal blockage or other gastro intestinal disorder.
You mentioned not eating. Is your cat drinking? Cats can survive a while with out food, but need hydration. Is the cat urinating regularly?
I am not a veterinarian, I am human medicine doctor (MD) . If we saw these symptoms in an older human, we would admit them for diagnosis and treatment.
