Hi, my name is Jim.

I have loved cats since I was a kid. The best cats in my life have been strays. My first cat was a stray as are the last two. Living with me is a calico named Xena. She is coming up on 14 years old, and I hope she will be my first cat to reach old age. Xena is a great companion. She is spoiled and at times a brat. My other cat, Boney Girl has been in heaven for 61 weeks and I still have not recovered. She is why I am here. I wish to learn to be a better cat care taker and share with people who love cats. I should have done this long ago. I am looking forward to being part of this site.

Welcome, Jim and Xena, to TCS!
This is a very friendly place and you'll definitely be able to learn more about cats. A lot more!  Do you have any pictures of Xena?  We'd love to see them.

I'm really sorry about Boney Girl.  Almost everyone here knows what it is like to lose a beloved cat member of the family and understands the grief you're feeling.  It helps some members to post a tribute to their cat in the Crossing the Bridge forum. http://www.thecatsite.com/f/19/crossing-the-bridge   It sounds like she was a very special girl.

Looking forward to seeing you around the forums.

Hi and welcome to TCS!  I'm so sorry about Boney Girl.  As @Margd  said, many of us know the feeling of losing a beloved kitty.

Xena is beautiful!  I hope you have many more years with her.

Welcome to TCS!  Xena is a cutie, eating that grass.  I know how it feels to be dealing with a loss, I just lost my Angel on Feb. 5th. You will love this site. There are a lot of great people here,

& lots to read & learn. I know I did back when I first joined.

Aww, thank you. Angel was a boy though. I thought he was a girl for the first year he started hanging around, before I finally gave in. He was already neutered, & I had only grown up with a peek-a-poo, so I thought he was a she. But it really was more of the way & when he came to me, that makes his name fit.

Here's our story, if you want to read it. I posted it last year.

Welcome to TCS!  I wandered in here a few months ago, researching something that escapes me at the moment, and was almost immediately hooked.  I hope that you find the same welcome, the same friendships, the same fellowship and the same amount of help in time of trouble (whether illness or loss) that I have found.

Xena is a lovely girl.  I'm a bit partial the the tri-colored kitties, myself, being currently owned by one.  I love the picture of her eating the lemon grass.  That's a cat with a keen eye for an herb.

As Margd said, when you feel like it, we'd love to hear about your Boney Girl.  When you feel like sharing.
