My cat is due any day now and I'm sure she's in the first stage of labour but not 100% sure. She's been meowing at me all morning and diving from my bed in to her nest. I've sat with her most of the day and she's seems very content. She used to hate me rubbing her tummy but today she seems to love it. Also, every time I leave her to go do something, she follows me and wants me to come back to her nest with her. I'm not sure if this is Defo the 1st stages, could some one let me no?

It does sound like Stage One labor, which can last up to 24 hours. If you see her belly rippling in waves, those are contractions. She is likely uncomfortable and in pain. Many cats want their favorite human nearby during labor. Continue to offfer as much comfort as you can, and ask further questions on this same thread. [emoji]128522[/emoji]

Thank you, it's mine and kitty's first time so we're both a bit anxious lol. I'm not seeing any rippling at the moment but I'm just waiting. Hoping the little ones will be here tonight but it's just a waiting game I suppose

I'm honestly not sure what I'm looking for, in no it's meant to be ripples but because she's breathing very heavy and fast or purring very deeply, I can't really tell. She's hardly left her neat unless I leave the room and she follows me. Any advice on what to look for?

I think you are seeing it with the heavy breathing. The purring is how cats comfort themselves. I mentioned belly ripples, but it sounds like she's in labor, especially since she's camped out in the nest.

She's been in her nest since 7am so hopefully it won't be too long, she just seems tired but she's not sleeping for as long as normal

Fantastic! Let us know when a kitten arrives! If she is still pushing with no kitten born after an hour, you'll need to call your vet.

She's still cleaning baby, when should she start pushing again. It's been just over an hour now since little one came

Cats can take breaks between babies. Mine had four kittens, each about an hour or so apart. Is the little one nursing yet?

She's nursing the first one, and she's been pushing for about 30mins on the second on now. There was a 2hour gap between first kitten being born and then resuming pushing on the 2nd, hope that's ok. She's tired tho but she's still going strong bless her.

Sounds like she is doing well. Is the kitten here yet, or can you see anything coming out?
