My hachi was completely blocked in November , he was catheterized and did good after but then he started frequently to urinate in soft places and it turned out that he has bacterial infection . the doctor prescribed an antibiotic and he was doing good for three months after till 2 weeks ago . 2 weeks ago i saw blood in the urine and i took a sample for urine analysis there was RBc's and puss available yet there was no crystals . the vet did not ask for urine culture this time and he prescribed the antibiotic . it has been a weak after hachi has stopped the antibiotic and today he has urinated about three times and it is not his usual self because he only urinates once a day . what should i do ? is it treatable or would we both suffer like this forever ? the vet says that there is no treatment for him and he will always have problems with his urinary tract so i am dead worried . One more thing he has been eating royal canine urinary since November and it seems that it will no longer be available in Egypt so will chicken be okay for him ?

Infections are treatable but the vet needs to know what type of bacteria you are dealing with so a urine sample via cystocentesis and a culture should be done. I think you need to look for another vet in your area.
