Hi. I am doing this kind of backwards. I started posting on the health thread because I had a situation but now I'm exploring and reading.

I'm Sherry. A newlywed (Sept 2015), with a cat loving husband and no human children. Instead we have 5 furkids.

Mustang 21 yrs old, adopted from. North Shore Animal League at the age of 5ish. He's a kidney cat with thyroid disease.

LilyBelle 16.5 yrs old, had since birth (I knew her mama cat). She's arthritic and hates all other cats lol

Anubis, aka Noobie 6.5 yrs old, had since 5 weeks from an adoption center that feral babies were dumped at. He's been on a diet and lost 3.5 lbs so far

My bonded feral Russian Blue siblings who I tnrd but then adopted last March, Pandora and Tesla, almost 2 yrs old.
This is from the first night inside March 4, 2015. Pandora left, Tesla right

All of them in a room together is rare

A belated welcome to TCS!
Did you say Mustang is 21?  He looks like he's doing very well for being such an old man with chronic health conditions.  You're obviously doing something right with him!  LilyBelle is cute as a button, even if she is grumpy.  And beautiful Anubis (or Noobie) looks just like my Paul, even down to the pudgy tummy.  That's great he's losing weight.  Paul is only only today starting his diet and I'm not sure how it will go.  And of course Pandora and Tesla are totally gorgeous.  I love the photo of them all together.  I have a hard time even getting two in the same photo, let alone five.  I hope you enjoy your time here - it's a very friendly place and people are very generous in sharing their expertise.  See you around the forums.

Hi Margd!

Yes Mustang is 21! He's my old man. I've managed his kidney disease for 5 years with an otc supplement called Renafood by Standard Process, moist food, and an electric water fountain. He developed thyroid disease a few months ago and gets a pill nightly. The KD prescribed was hurting him weight wise so I feed Stella and Chewys and he's put on weight and is doing better.

Pandora was just diagnosed with epilepsy of sorts which is why I was on the health forum first.

My friends say I sound like I'm talking about kids when I talk of my kitties.

Noobie is on a diet to lose, Mustang is on a diet to gain, Pandora is on seizure meds,LilyBelle won't eat in the same room as the rest so she's separate, and Tesla is chillin

Lol

Everyone has been SO nice and helpful. I'm happy to be here! Thanks for the welcome!

Here's Noobie the centerfold kitty lolol

You must be very, very busy.
Your cats are lucky indeed to have you!   I followed your Pandora thread and really hope she continues to do well.

Welcome to you and your furkids.  This is the one place in the world where no one's eyes will glaze over when you say, "Guess what (insert cat's name here) did today?"  Instead, a few hundred ears will prick up and prepare for a good cat story.  Enjoy us, we plan to enjoy you!

I'm also in NJ. I live in Newark. Where there are a lot of stray cats. Some friendly some feral. I would hopefully like to organize something for them at some point. Maybe TNR for the feral ones & some fostering for the friendlies.

Your furry children are all so lovely.
