My cat is almost two years old and long haired.  He refuses to eat dry food, regardless of which brand or flavor it is, so we feed him wet.  For a while, he has been throwing up consistently.  The vomit is usually always liquid, mostly-digested food and it is almost never a hairball consistency.  He eats three meals per day of wet food, about a quarter or a bit less of the can per meal.  The vet has deemed him 100% healthy, and recommended feeding him grain-free food, but the problem persists.  He is very active, isn't too skinny or too fat, and has normal bowel movements.  The vomiting doesn't occur right after eating, nor is it at the same time during the day when it does happen.  The wet food I give him is free of soy, corn, other allergens

Any ideas what I can do?  If you need more info I can tell you more details.  Thank you!!

What brand(s)/flavors and how much are you feeding?

Have you ever tried giving him an antacid like Pepcid?

How has your vet determined him to be healthy? Any blood work, ultrasound or any other diagnostics?

We give him various flavors of Wellness Core but he prefers the chicken.  I'm trying to give him Natural Balance duck & green pea now but he won't take.  He eats a quarter can of wet food at 6am, 3pm, and 8pm.  The vet did blood work, we brought in a stool sample, the vet said to keep trying new foods and hope something works.  I brush him daily and remove any matted fur (if this helps).

I haven't been advised on an antacid nor tried it.

I would look into a LID wet food like Merrick LID, or Nature's Variety.

You also might look into raw food, like Rad Cat, which is much easier for cats to digest, especially cats with a food sensitivity issue.

I believe the Natural Balance is LID, but the raw food sounds like a good idea to try.  Thank you very much!

If you don't try raw food right away, I might suggest feeding only canned foods without peas or potatoes, which can bother some cats. (We have a cat who vomits from potato...) Carrageenan can also cause problems. Good luck! Rad Cat is good food -- I hope it might be helpful for you.
