Good morning!
 And Happy Friday!
(doing the "Oh, it's Friday, it's Friday!" happy dance)

Easy question this morning: What are your plans for this weekend? Doing anything special?

Saturday night, Rick and I are going out to dinner with my sister and BIL and my brother and SIL. We are celebrating my sister getting her doctorate. That was a lot of hard work and a lot of sleepless nights, but she did it. Kudos to her....she deserves them. I'm making chocolate cupcakes with whipped peanut butter frosting for dessert and everybody's coming back to the house for cake and coffee. Cupcakes instead of a cake; they're easier for everybody else to take home.

On Sunday, we are going to Rick's sister and BIL's house for dinner. This is the German dinner that Sam is making with our homemade sauerkraut. Lots of roasted pork with the sauerkraut, onions, apples, and spices. He is making a pumpkernickel bread to go with. I was supposed to do something "German" for dessert and I'm considering making Windbeutel, those cream puffs that @Kat0121  mentioned (thanks, Kat!). I can make the puffs and the filling ahead of time and take them separately, then put the puffs together right before we eat them. I'm thinking of a lemon curd, though, instead of a regular cream filling.....we all love lemon and that would be rather refreshing (maybe with a little chocolate ganache drizzled over the top)....yes, chocolate and lemon do go together, beautifully! I'm also going to make Linzer bars (thank you, @Paiger8) , simply because I just love raspberry and this is a chance for me to make them and not have to bring the leftovers back home.
I should add that making the cream puffs depends on the weather; it there's even the slightest chance of rain, I'm not going there. Cream puffs are like meringues for me when it rains.....does not work; they simply get sticky and it doesn't matter how long I bake them.

Other than that, it's running errands: banking, Target, etc. A bit of house cleaning, the normal stuff.

What about you?

Getting engaged (maybe)?

Ring is bought - he picks it up Saturday.  Not sure when he intends on giving it to me officially. Knowing him it will be sooner than later. It isn't like I don't know, we were together picking it out and I knew when it was going to be ready.  For all I know he has it at home - they called a couple of days ago to say he could pick it up.

Other than that, same ole same old. Grocery shopping, manicure (see above LOLOLOLOL) etc.

Tomorrow is DD's 21st birthday

I'm taking her to Disney World. That's what she wants. We're staying here https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/resorts/port-orleans-resort-riverside/

Tomorrow we'll go to Epcot and drink around the world

Sunday she goes back to school. Class starts up again Monday
Disney is so great for all ages.  I love Epcot. The Mexican restaurant there, I think it's called the Angel Inn?  Very good!

My BF has never been there.  It's a trip we really should make together. He'd just love it

It sounds like some of you are going to have an exciting weekend!

Mine will hopefully be quiet. Tomorrow will be spent catching up on laundry, cleaning, cooking, etc.. Sunday I'll be at the shelter from 6:45 to 12:00 and then if all goes well will have some time to read and relax.

Work tomorrow as usual
Looks like I'm going to be at work until at least  3pm or so (start at 6am)

Sunday I'm at my Mom's house not doing much of anything but read the Sunday paper and watch tv. Oh, and watch the Peanuts movie that just came out. I got a copy from the library but it's only a week loan.

No real plans here. We will probably go into the city tomorrow to look for shoes. My husband and I both need new running/walking shoes. Sunday, dinner at the in laws. That's about it.

Saturday I will spend wondering how my 20 yo's drive to SLC is going. He and some friends are spending their spring break there.  My oldest tells me he will be driving through snow and mountains.  Well, at least the rental car will have insurance.

I also have to get some kitty litter for the rescue and drop it off.

Sunday Eclipse has a wellness check-up at the vet. Riding in the car terrifies him.  I did pick up some ideas on the behavior forum and will clean the stroller and wipe it down with Feliway wipes before we leave.

Might go out to dinner w/ DD if the boys go skiing.  It's been raining all week and (now I have ants in the kitchen) that means snow in the mountains.

We have a memorial service to go to tomorrow. They are never any fun, but something you just have to do. I will get chance to see some of my cousins I don't see much and I will enjoy that.

I hope to fit in some grocery shopping too. The weather is beautiful here and I am hoping for a Sunday afternoon snooze on the porch sofa with Snoop.

Throwing an over-sized computer desk down a flight of stairs, tying it to my walker and dragging it to the dumpster.  After that, I plan to scrub the kitchen floor.  What will probably happen is that I'll collapse in a puddle and quiver till Sunday night.

I'm looking very forward to seeing a picture of it.

Our weekend is Friday and Saturday. Work on Sunday but not for me. I'm retired.
One of my grandsons came to visit me today. About and hour later my son came to fetch him and see his mum. That's it. Read the newspaper and hope there's something worth watching on tv.

Work on Saturday!

Church Sunday Morning, then off to take my Great Pyrenees for a bath at the pet store groomers. It's for a fundraising event, $10 for a wash and the money goes to a local animal shelter
 so not too shabby!

Oh wow, congratulations! We'll need to see some photos of that.

Nothing special planned for the weekend. I work 10 to 6 Saturdays and Sundays. I sometimes go for a walk when I'm done but it's snowing here at the moment so maybe not this week.

HAHA. Not for free. Free is not a word in Disney's vocabulary
True dat!!  We are in the researching phase of planning a trip.  My poor husband.

I have no idea what we are doing this weekend.  I need to find DD shoes for Easter Sunday and DS needs khaki pants to go with his shirt.  I'm annoyed at needing shoes for DD.  It's too cold for sandals but white dress shoes never get much use.

My daughter is a student at the University of Central Florida in Orlando. They offer discounted 1 day Disney tickets for $95.00  including tax. I bought 2. 1 for each of us for tomorrow. Before I bought the tickets from UCF I called Disney's main customer service to see if I could upgrade the tickets to park hoppers, They said yes and it was $25.00 per ticket. OK. Great. I bought the tickets less than . We checked into the hotel to check and and we went to the concierge to upgrade the tickets. We were then told that it would be $85 per ticket to upgrade them. Bringing my final total to $180.00 EACH for a one day park hopper. They just raised the price depending on season. I complained and they could not have cared less. I'm going to pay it but only because it's DD's birthday. I'm going to send a very nasty letter to Disney corporate.  I have been going to WDW since the late 70's and now I'm done. This is insane. I'm at the Disney hotel right now. We're going to the parks tomorrow.

Work, as usual. I'm getting tea with my sister Sunday morning before work though, and spending some time with my cousin on Monday (one of my days off).
