I just stumbled upon this site while trying to identify what my cat is, and am so happy to meet other cat lovers!

My cat is 20, longhair, tortie, grumpy but has a lot of personality and is very interactive.  She loves to beg, she's a good mouser, likes to be up high, and is highly allergic to fleas.  She has tufts of fur from short ears, a main, long fluffy tail, very long soft fur (mats easily), big round green eyes.  She's very smart and seems to understand everything.

Can't wait to get to know some of you and your cats!

Welcome to TCS!
Your kitty sounds amazing.  Do you have any photos of her?  We can never see too many cat pictures.  Also, what is her name?  I think it's fantastic she's lived so long and it sounds like she's still going strong.  You must be doing something right!

She was Mama Kitty when I got her and I shortened it to Kitty (I know, original, huh!).  My avitar is a picture of her but will attach others.  I've had a cat or two all my life, but she is the most unique cat I've ever had.  She's 20 and never been to the vet!  Someone crudely "fixed" her before I got her, a cord was hanging from her belly (makes me sick to think about that!).  Every time I tried to take her to get shots, she ran and hid, like she somehow knew what I was thinking, I finally gave up.  My other animals have shots and Kitty stays in the house or on the patio nowadays.  She gets around amazingly well!  She tears through the house with a burst of energy!  She's very vocal and opinionated.  She's in better health than any cat I've ever had, and she's the oldest, even beating King George by a year!  I'm so glad I rescued her and promised her a forever home

What a beauty!  I see she believes in sitting comfortably at all times.
Well, when you get to her age, she doesn't have to worry about posture any longer.  She really is a gorgeous cat with a splendid tail.  It's amazing she's never been to the vet, especially given her mangled spay job.  What do you feed her?  Have you found the fountain of youth?

Haha, no, just 9Lives & Friskies, but she also begs a bite here and there.  She loves cheese!  She gets ballistic if you don't give her any.
She grew up in a trailer court in Portland, OR, we called her our "Crack cat" because when you scratched her but she'd nod her head in fast motion in all directions, like she was on crack.  She had several owners before us, they'd move and just abandon her, poor cat!  She's the only thing good I got out of that marriage...my husband dumped her on me before he disappeared.  I'm glad he did, because I could relate to her, getting abandoned, and determined to give her a royal rest of her life.  I live in the country and she loves it!  She used to climb up a tall tree and get stuck.  One day she disappeared and I looked all over my acreage for her, calling her and calling her.  Finally, after a couple of days, we found her up a tree, she was hoarse and could barely whisper by then.  My son parked his one ton next to it and climbed on top of the cab and could barely reach her.  She scratched and clawed all the way down.  A couple days later she did the same thing, only this time she was further up and we couldn't reach her.  He's an excellent marksman, so he shot the branch of the tree off that she was sitting on and she came floating down in slow motion, on the branch, back and forth, back and forth, all the way down.  She never climbed up a tree again!  I was scared but there's no ladder high enough to reach her and firemen don't come rescue cats in the country.  She was up there, no food or water, for a couple of days, hoarse again, too scared to back down.  I have so many stories with this cat.

One day I got a dog...a big overgrown puppy, kind of wild eyed.  Kitty was scared and wouldn't come in the house with him in there.  So she lived out on the patio for 1 1/2 years.  Neighborhood bully cats would come around and try to steal her food so I had to put her in a box with her food and close it so they couldn't get in while she ate.  Finally one day she decided she'd rather tackle the dog instead of the bully cats so she came in and told him what was what and they've been living happily together ever since!  I have another cat too, Miss Mocha, but her and Kitty more or less just tolerate each other.  They give each other the evil eye now and then but most of the time ignore each other.  At least they live peaceably and it's pretty 50/50 who is in charge.
